croker says he's still under contract and will legally enforce it. hopefully it doesn't turn in to an alvarez-esque legal battle shit show

SkinnyPupp 12-21-2014 03:19 AM

It involves Rampage, of course it's going to be a shit show :lawl:

UFC is moving from sportsnet to TSN/Fightnetwork. From what it looks like, TSN will show PPV prelims, FOX events, and North American Fight Night events. And it sounds like events that would be on Fightpass might be shown on Fightnetwork now? I dont currently have Fightnetwork, but isnt it only available in SD not HD?

TSN, RDS and Fight Network New Canadian Home for UFC Content | UFC &reg - News

TSN and RDS will deliver a slate of marquee UFC programming to fans across multiple platforms, including major live events, preliminary fights of UFC Pay-Per-View events, UFC Fight Night™ events, and The Ultimate FighterŪ series.

Fight Network will broadcast all UFC Fight Night™ events from around the world as well as preliminary bouts for domestic non-Pay-Per-View cards.

damnn.. another injury for Dominick Cruz..

Former UFC champ Dominick Cruz sidelined indefinitely with another ACL injury | MMAjunkie

I guess they'll give that fight to Barao

Raphael Assuncao also announced that he broke both ankles during training...

http://mmajunkie.com/2014/12/raphael...-title-picture

I can't think of any other contenders now lol

SkinnyPupp 12-22-2014 01:35 PM

At this point I wonder if Cruz will contemplate retiring

RRxtar 12-22-2014 02:47 PM

or suicide.

poor guy was at the peak of his game and the division just as money started pouring into the weight class, and he will now have 1 fight in 4-5 years. never got a chance to make the money that he would have.

CM Punk Chooses Training Camp For MMA Career - WrestlingInc.com

Punk will be training at Roufusport... Anthony Pettis, Duke Roufus, Ben Askren.... Some pretty talented guys he'll be training with!

GLOW 12-26-2014 09:06 AM

ben askren was tweeting how it was a joke dana said he needed more experience when punk was signed...

i'm still waiting for the epic signing of the green ranger for the superfight!

2 n r 12-29-2014 08:22 PM

Im liking the idea of cm punk vs green ranger lol. the media's been writing stories on how it makes sense and i agree

UFC might not like it as they want to avoid being a freak show but thats what they sorta did signing cm punk

SkinnyPupp 12-29-2014 11:49 PM

CM Punk vs a 1-0 or 0-0 guy is not a freak show, it's a famous guy getting into UFC. CM Punk vs Green Ranger is a freak show :lawl:

jonwon 12-30-2014 12:11 AM

IMO signing CM Punk already lost the UFC some credibility. At least Brock was an elite level wrestler with the pedigree to back it up, but CM Punk hasn't achieved much of anything. UFC is going rapidly going downhill, the set of champions right now has to be the least marketable group in recent times. At this point, I only tune in to watch McGregor

I've seen people say this in mma forums, but I don't get it.. What is "credibility" in terms of an MMA promotion, and why should it matter?

To me, it's a personal opinion. For you personally, it loses them credibility. What's the end result of that? You don't buy that show?

Because I think people who agree with you are such a small (but vocal) minority that it's pretty much irrelevant. MMA doesn't owe anyone anything in terms of "credibility" (however you define it).

well... green ranger is 1-0 professionally :concentrate:

murd0c 12-30-2014 07:01 AM

If CM has a great fight people will say Dana is a genius and if he sucks people will say told you so. Either way its a win win situation and I betcha a lot of WWE fans will watch just to see what will happen and right there makes it worth while for the UFC.

MarkyMark 12-30-2014 07:17 AM

Honestly it would only be fun watching him fight if he cut some awesome promos building up the fights, but he seems too humble to do that in the ufc after watching some of his interviews.

SkinnyPupp 12-31-2014 03:28 PM

So Cro Cop fought Satoshi Ishii last night

NYE fight events in Japan just aren't the same anymore.

Well...combat sports here in general have basically regressed into nothingness.

SkinnyPupp 12-31-2014 05:31 PM

That's the thing about Japan. When something is popular, they are so good at producing content. Wrestling, video games, MMA. But their culture is so fad based. Even though they still have quality producers, once the fad dies they just stop being as good.

neggo 01-01-2015 09:32 AM

Can't wait for Cormier and Jones.

The way the story line has been built around these two have been amazing to say the least.

SkinnyPupp 01-01-2015 03:29 PM

Yup this is the best promoted fight in a long time! Of course everyone here hates that stuff so I'm sure they don't really care about this fight :troll:

RRxtar 01-01-2015 03:35 PM

the whole main event aside from the Gaudinot fight is very interesting.

Ch28 01-01-2015 04:13 PM

Can't wait to see DC beat Jones
