Meh to sleepers. Like dhillon09 says, a practical joke... I just don't care that much though.

Sounds about right.

I have zero desire to drive a sleeper just to surprise people with it's straight line speed.

New Corollas beat me off the line on the way to Whole Foods so that's more than enough of a sleeper. Nothing surprises me anymore.

trollguy 10-11-2013 11:34 AM

That's cause you're on your fixie with your tight jeans. Of course it's going to be hard to get the bike off the line.

bcrdukes 10-11-2013 11:44 AM

Don't hate me cuz I'm going green. :troll:

I hardly think a roll cage and fat rear tires constitutes a sleeper.

Fantastic nonetheless.

I love a good sleeper.

When you get that dick in a BMW that pulls into right lane which ends immediately after an intersection trying to beat you off the line to cut back in front of you,, the look on his face is priceless when he can't understand why a econobox just blew past him.

^ This guy knows.

Also, who said a sleeper has to only dominate on the straights? :troll:

What about this car, as a 'new' sleeper?

http://barriervolvoblog.com/wp-conte...S60-T5-AWD.jpg

AWD, 0-60 in under 6 seconds, looks like an unassuming grandpa car
Driven these a lot for work .. and it is pretty quick

Pretty much the original sleeper..not for people who know anything about cars, but the general public would still underestimate it..

0-60 in 6s

tofu1413 10-17-2013 09:50 PM

Man.. those GN-X looked pretty mean.

A guy down my street had one... then next thing I knew the car's front end was smashed

kwy 10-17-2013 10:37 PM

Probably just a regular Grand National, as around 40,000 were made. Only 547 GNXs were produced, with most of them likely in museums and private collections by now.

edit - still sad to hear a GN getting wrecked though.

tofu1413 10-17-2013 10:44 PM

i remember it being a grand national.. it was quite a few years back when I was in high school...

didnt know much about these cars.

All I remember was it was blacked out from the factory and looked bad ass in person.
