I fear it may become more corporate....like, who the fuck sends a halloween card?!

The corporations will attempt to encroach on Halloween, but they will never succeed. "Who the fuck sends a Halloween card?!;" the obvious answer, no one, and no one ever will.

For some reason this post reminded of a story...

A few years back it was Easter....I was living with my boyfriend at the time and my mom gives me a call. The thing about my mom is that from time to time she would (and still does) forget that I was/am a functioning adult who pays bills, owns a house, has a career, etc. So, mom decides that she needs to call me to "remind" me to "dress up" for Easter dinner. I don't know why she felt the need to go out of her was to phone her 24 year old daughter and remind her not to dress like a fucking slob for a special family dinner (you should note that never ever EVER have a dressed anything but appropriate for a family dinner). I said "ummm, okay" and we ended the convo.

Needless to say, she was not impressed when I showed up in my halloween bat costume for Easter dinner. The rest of the family got a kick out of it :)

She hasn't phoned me since to remind me to "dress up".

There were always stories like these even back when I was a kid. Didn't stop me from trick or treating!
