Just imagine that 1.6 DIG-T in a light rear wheel drive car, with a 6-speed manual w/ the synchro-rev out of the 370z.

Please Nissan make my dreams come true... Also I wouldn't even mind if it came out under the datsun name plate. Although they are kinda using that name for different purposes...

Nothing stopping you from prying off the Nissan and IDx badges and putting on your own Datsun and 510 badges.

I really respect the idea and concept of re-creating something model for the car enthousiasts that enjoy the older vehicles but would like something new. Maybe abit of refinement is neccessary to selling product.

I hope Mazda will listen to their customers feedback as well and revamp an old product of theirs as well!

I dont mind it. It looks fine IMO. I am just surprised that Nissan choose to tackle the FRS/BRZ in this way instead of coming out with a S16 Silvia/240SX/180SX whatever you want to call it.

It is going to be a niche model for sure. The people who buy it would know what the original 510 is all about. The girls who do not know anything about any cars will stick with the auto FRS for an "entry" sports car.

So i am indifferent. In a way, it is a marketing fail, as I feel the FRS appeals not only to enthusiasts but also budgeted consumers who wants a hardtop coupe in the 30,000 range. (The general public are still not sure about American cars - V6 mustang or an korean car - Hyundai 2.0T, well Asian parents that I have talked to at least, but they are comfortable buying a "toyota" coupe for their kids)

This Datson/Nissan though, very few to no chicks (who are not enthusiasts) is gonna tell their parents that they want this thing over the FRS.

Just my 0.02. But I love how Nissan always tries something funky and different from Mainstream.

RX-x revival? Maybe not.

But as for customer feedback and what they are actually developing:
Continuing to avoid hybrid tech? Absolutely.
