Commision based Jobs

Hi guys I was wondering what other jobs are there that are commision based other than: car sales, real estate, insurance, software programs, cell phones, clothing, perfumes, Jewelery, bank commision and furniture ?

I am currently in car sales but it is really slow and may consider a switch

Anything you guys have in mind or hear good things about?

I don't want to do any pyramid scheme or multi-level marketing sales

So lets hear it guys !

Retail sales....I use to make $20+an hour in retail sales when it was commission based....and I was like 15-16 years old.
High end designer brand salesman can make over 70K per year....the top LV sales guy in Vancouver makes over 200K per year.

How long have you been in sales? Doesn't it take a while for you to starting building your clientele? Can't really expect to be making big bucks right away.

i've been doing it for about 7 months now. The thing is the managers dont really care if you are a newbie, they will give you pressure and expect you to sell lots. It is the case at least at my current place

7 month is not very long. Just keep trying, maybe you will catch a break during Christmas?

I've seen some pretty jr. sales people at these stores, but also some more experienced ones.
The gentleman that always helps me at Rosen started out at Moores, then went to the Bay before joining Harry Rosen.

Most retail places are easy to get into, but hard to stick around for a long time, especially in commission based environments, its all about hitting targets, and for places like Rosen, its about building that clientele, and having repete customers.

fashion retail experience is a must for holt and they require 3 interviews

1 with manager of section (lv, gucci, prada, etc.), one with holt renfrew head office, and the last one with head office of the section.

you have the choice of full salary, half-half, or full commission. you are also able to sell products from different sections and vice-versa, but most definitely the main goal is to hit/exceed the quota from you own section

Canadian Springs is commissioned based too. Probation period you start $16/hr + commission and after probation you go up to $18/hr + commission. over a time period you can go up to at least $50-$60/hr and commission.
I use to be in the water cooler cleaning department and made $18/hr + $10/cooler. In 2 weeks time I can make from $1000-1700 from cleaning coolers.

Im in Real Estate....and even after 6 years, its still a haul...new stuff you gotta learn every time.

Ever consider commercial supplies and electronics? I have been recruited by companies like Xerox and some other company thats been around for 20+ years. The sales teams have been around for many consecutive years with good pay from the same clients.

You can always sell gym memberships..you know, high quotas and low commissions.

I'm a real estate agent and there will be months at time where no pay will come in. You will need a lot of savings and patients.

Most people believe that you will make such good money right away but it takes years and years to establish yourself.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to join one of the best real estate teams in Richmond. Real estate is one expensive career but definitely rewarding.

Specialize Recruitment (engineering, IT, etc etc). Different recruiting agencies have different commission structure. First year recruiters usually make around 65-70k (45k base +commission). The more people you put to work, the more you make etc etc.

What about business development or online/phone sales?

My roommate worked at BuildDirect.com selling hardwood flooring/home improvement products and raked it in there. All warm leads and he said it was pretty much just taking orders and making recommendations than the hard sell.

Corporate Sales.

At one point, we had a newly grad Corporate Sales Program. All you needed was an undergrad and NO other corporate sales experience. We had a 3 month training course where we send all the new grad hires to Atlanta (from all over the world) to be molded to new Account Executives - into the way we want them to do sales.

Anyways, the market never picked up so the Sales Program was halted a year ago.

Salary wise, you can earn 6 figures since our contracts are 6-8 figure contracts. The clientele are businesses in the telecommunications/cable , energy & utility space
