Best time/way to make the switch from Telus to Shaw (TV and Net)

Any tactics or timing to get the best possible deal from a switch over to shaw? I've had pretty good luck arguing with shaw over Retentions but their current offers suck and are not much if at all better than Telus

GF switching everything over from telus to Rogers cellular and shaw TV and internet

There any leverage you have in switching over? Best to call in or go to a booth like in metro etc?
