I believe in the EU there's a law where airlines have to pay out a certain amount for delayed luggage depending on how many days your baggage was delayed, I assume that's how they came to the $850 amount.

It may/may also be based on the weight it was upon checked in.

sounds like a joke... considering Kerbal Space Program (a game) has a dual use (ie: atmospheric/non atmospheric) engine called the SABRE which also relies on pre-coolers.

Got back from my trip, snapped tons of pictures which i'll post later or maybe do a trip report on airliners.net and flyertalk. Here's two quick pictures, one is from the a380 and the other the 773;

What is your guys opinion on Air Canada economy vs. Air France economy? Approx. 12 hour flight.

roastpuff 01-20-2015 08:56 AM

AF economy probably has better food, and if you can find a non 3-4-3 777 better seat comfort.

Harvey Specter 01-20-2015 03:02 PM

Side note, AF premium eco is on sale for $1500 (all in) from YVR to Milan with a Paris stopover from now until August, it was only $1000 a few days ago.

Another quick question, how about Lufthansa Economy compared to the other two (Air Canada and Air France)? tia!

I noticed many of the flights that were Lufthansa would say "serviced by AC". And there would be the exact same flight with AC at the same time. Both have different flight numbers but are most likely the exact same flight?

Trying to plane a trip this summer, poor CAD though. :(

Personally I would go with Lufthansa over Air Canada and Air France. I find the service level at Lufthansa is heaven and earth compared to AC. and the hard product is better as well.

but as you noticed "serviced by AC" means they fly on AC metal and not their own Lufthansa metal, so Lufthansa just code share with AC and it's the exact flight as whatever AC flight number is.

Hope this helps!

TOS'd 01-22-2015 04:21 PM

Yup, sure helps! The price difference between the different companies are less than $10 round trip. So I figured I'd splurge(or save) since they all roughly cost the same.

Harvey Specter 01-22-2015 04:51 PM

Be careful flying AC because you might get stuck flying the 777HD which is god awful in both Y and J.

TOS'd 01-22-2015 04:56 PM

Of my options, I see 777 and 767 from YYZ to CDG and vice versa.
