There should be some kind of arbitration other wise a cop can be a asshole and find say a bald tire something small and issue a vi for nothing.

They're actually fog lights but they're my DRL and he said it's not ALLOWED which is why he wrote the VI as he did. The problem is, Canadian MR2's use fog lights as DRL from the FACTORY. I'm pretty sure not only MR2s use fog lights as DRL.

I dont think you can cancel VI's, there is no dispute process. Once you are issued one, its end of story. So ya if the cop was in a bad mood, game over.
Stupid ass reason for a VI though seriously. The flip side here is you have an email address, I would follow up. Ask for the issuing officers contact information. If his only issue is the fog lights then prove to him, they are your DRL.

Playing the waiting game now because I got an automated response saying she won't be in until Thursday lol.
