TV: Helix (scifi: viral outbreak)

Helix is an American science fiction thriller television series that premiered on Syfy on January 10, 2014.[1] The series follows a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who travel to a research facility in the Arctic to investigate a potential outbreak of disease. While there, they find themselves stuck in a life-or-death situation that could decide the future of mankind

3 episodes released on the high seas.

Pretty good so far!

I've been waiting for the next Ronald Moore TV show, since BSG ended. I thought this should would be awesome, but instead, I found it awful. It's too sci-fi.

BSG was great because it was believable and realistic. Rarely did I think to myself "that's not real, that would never happen, that's stupid". When watching Helix, I think that so often. Like the scene where they turn on the gas, the actual wall panel glows red behind it. Really? Turning a nozzle changes the color of some dry wall? That's so stupid.

You would think an outbreak of a "virus" involving the CDC would be the perfect setup for a realistic drama, but instead, they went full sci-fi and gave every character half a brain.

Spoiler!
