I think Kia screwed up and made the real Stinger off the full size Genesis sedan. hahaha

What say you?

If I hear them say "yea" again, I swear to god...... the most annoying "yea" I've heard in my life!

The car was developed by a former BMW M division VP

I have a 2015 5.0L sedan and the more I look at the Stinger, the more I like it. I have 3 more years of warranty before I trade it in and this is really tempting. I was going to go up to a Jag but I may have to step down to a Kia... LOL

It's hard to give up a V8 tho :(

J-Chow 11-24-2017 10:45 PM

Makes me wanna trade in my 2016 mustang ecoboost for the stinger lol...

EvoLove 11-24-2017 11:08 PM

Everything but that front bumper looks awesome, i would consider trading in one of my current cars if there was a nice aftermarket front bumper that isnt so weird looking.

Drow 11-24-2017 11:12 PM

they need to change their logo like srs.

when ppl see KIA.. they think budget economy cars

Looks fine for the most part but leather door pulls make no sense on a car like this. Track-only trim, yes, that's a mighty fine idea but not for a daily. It's too try-hard

The Korean version has nicer rear badging... but I feel like the front and steering wheel badging is even worse than their current North American logo.

Have you had a chance to check out some of their other reviews?
I took a peek at their Cruze one, and quite enjoyed how they were able to be casually engaging without trying too hard like the MotorTrend guys.
For anyone who's seen the Chevy commercial parodies, the Mahk cameo also stood out to me.

Nabatron 11-25-2017 08:52 AM

rather have that Korean emblem then it just saying kia on a badge

Klondike 11-25-2017 09:42 AM

Or swap it for the K5 badge

Like the act the car has a name not just some numbers or letters.

^ those examples still looking cheap to me
but they've sure come a long way since their 90s tin can on wheels

AzNightmare 11-27-2017 10:54 PM

Just slap a JDM emblem and watch all the fanboys instant drool over it.

Seems like sometimes, you can just never win.

Saw one in Burnaby yesterday, kind of like the Audi Nardo grey. Kia calls it Ghost Grey.
Looked pretty good.
I like the A7 ish sportback hatch/trunk design.

Indy 02-14-2018 02:30 PM

I bet WCC is happy that their long standing relationship with kia finally gets them a really cool car to work with instead of the freaking souls and fortes they've been forced to do in the past lol

J-Chow 02-14-2018 02:37 PM

I think these have actual potential.

But every time I start discussing the matter with others, they end up saying .. "You're gonna pay HOW much for a KIA?"

IMO, It's only a badge. Kia and Hyundai has come a long way.

Specs wise, you're competing with cars in the same category that cost almost 1 1/2 or twice the value.

Then again, in these days, how many of the regular drivers, care about specs other than driver orientated enthusiasts?

thumper 02-14-2018 05:02 PM

Kia is trying to get sponsors to help fund a jump into Australian Supercar racing... but from little i could find online, existing race teams are still steadfast to their old v8 platforms:

When The Stinger was first announced, I too was very skeptical about how a budget carmaker could produce a quality GT or sports sedan.

I was very fortunate to be invited to drive this car at its limits on a race track and I have to give credit where it is due. This car can hold its own against many of its german rivals on a race track.....at a fraction of the cost.

I will agree that it is not up to the same German standards in terms of ride, handling, interior quality, etc. But it is not very far off. When you factor in the price, it is very good value for money.

I am not a Kia fan whatsoever, but hats off to them for a very solid effort with their first sports sedan.
