Look how We , Cars and modding and Revscene has evolved. :)

With Paul Walkers recent passing, i couldn't help think how far we have all gone.

I still remember watching this movie for the first time and thinking that this eclipse was absolutely out of this world. i didnt care that it fake rear slotted rotors and Eurolite stickers , it was cool and i loved it. ( at the time )

i even still remember that there was a red em1 civic that drove around my block and it literally was the coolest car on the block. it was low, it had body kit , and some chrome. Im not too sure if it was fast, but man it was one of the first modded cars i saw

Good read what cars were like in cali during the first fast and furious era

Now, we are given cars like Lamborghini Veneno roadster, Ferrari 458 and the 458 Italia , Mclaren mp4-12c that will probably roam Richmond sooner or later, if not already.

Maybe im just getting old, but once in a while, i just like to look back at what we had.

i remember the cars i used to make in NFS Underground when i was much younger... if given the opportunity with the same cars I used to "mod" im sure they would look very very different...

I also recall my parents filling up our old Sierra 2500.. dual tank and it was like 70$ to fill and that was outrageous to people... but my little civic gets filled with 94 every time.. about 65$.. for 1/4 the gas

Ummmm I remember when gas was like 29.9/L

When Arco came to BC and like instantly halved the price of Canadian competitors. Then the damn government got involved. Bastards.

Almost all cars in the video were honda/acura in that video.

Remember parents filling up gas for $0.55/L now you see $1.28/L that can lead up to $1.60/L summer time

or rather what he was trying to say is that people use to dump insane amount of money on imports to customize, and at the time these cars were head turners.

nowadays these cars goes into hos and expensive super car are the attention grabber (though i think they always are)

What intrigues me is all the cars that were "awesome" back the are considered hall of shame worthy today, makes me wonder if 10 years from now all the cars we consider "clean" and "awesome" today will be hall of shame worthy?

Since I've whored out all the old school pics on many photobucket, I'll wait until work tomorrow and scan old pics from the album.

Cruz-in, awesome thread.

Back in the gay someone would spend 3 to 5k for an engine swap to get 160 to 180HP and cruse around town thinking he's the man. now A stock civic can have more power than that. Those were the days.

Great video at the top.

At 0:19 seconds is the Mugen-stripped ITR that I was obsessed with at the Richmond street races and eventually led me to purchase my own 3 years later.

At 0:45 seconds is a friends PY ITR with the Mugen gen2 spoiler. Didn't know him then though.

Great walk down memory lane

No offense, but most the kids who own those mclarens and 458's would have been 8 years old when the first FF came out (let alone live here to know our automotive scene). Sorry but they never changed with the car scene; they barely even existed.

I joined RS in late-2000. I still remember the battles between RS and VI back in the day. Plus all the domestic vs. import battles. What a strange world it was back then. I remember Import Showoff 2002, Import Fest 2002, Import Showoff 2003, etc........ and I remember the large groups that would go to Seattle for HIN as well.

my brother has since sold this car but it had a few phases. including orange interior and chrome wheels. although those pictures are long lost. just for everyones info... the car was orange before fast and the furious. we bought it as a stock lowered orange integra and the mods followed after. the spoiler went from stock to a mugen prelude spoiler to the mugen one shown after. it was modified to fit (cut 3 inches of width and grafted back together) the carbon fiber hood however was totally because of fast and furious and was now a dark time in our lives as the car was broken into 2 times due to that super flexy hood.
this is the oldest i have...

the car was sold last year to a guy on the sunshine coast... since then apparently it was driven into a ditch and sold to another guy who has been in touch with the shop who did most of the mods to get it fixed up again
