West coast mobile can cut a key by code if you bring down the bike iirc. Otherwise you'll have to have a key made by other means which will cost a bit and take some time. Not sure if you'll have to take out the ignition for them, some.shops require that. Give them a call Posted via RS Mobile |

I would recommend calling around before calling West Coast Mobile. They are VERY expensive compared to the competition out there. Take it with a grain of salt, however, as I am only speaking from personal experience.
A great locksmith I've always dealt with is Broadway Locksmith. There's also Al Scott Lock & Safe who has done great work at reasonable prices. A few of their staff ride motorcycles themselves. |

If you can remove the lock cylinder and take it to the locksmith it will be a lot cheaper. Some goes for taking the bike to the locksmith.

any updates? my friend just told me he lost his key as well and we now realize that taking the lock cylinder out of his bike involves having to remove the gauge cluster as well with is a nightmare

Try contacting the dealership. They may be able to sell you the factory key given you show proof of ownership and under certain circumstances (however, I may be wrong - keep that in mind.)

Glad it worked out.
West Coast Mobile would have charged that alone for one key.
