Did the cops take the hipster dude in for anything else?

ICBC won't really do anything on the lines of "get back at hipster dude"... similar thing happened to me before and I didn't have to pay the deductible, but thats all.

GS8 02-03-2014 02:51 PM

Great story.

I wonder if you can nominate him for some kind of award?

I had an emergency meeting with all of my hipster friends to discuss this incident.

After 20 minutes of passive-aggressive sighing, beard-stroking, drinking craft brewed beer, and silent reflection over Occupy Wall Street, we all agreed that mirror-throwing was not some sort of new cool form of expression against the man. There was a motion to declare it a strike against vanity, that perhaps that hipster witnessed someone shave their beard and become mainstream again, but that was voted as unlikely.

sauceking88 02-03-2014 04:17 PM

Thanks for all the comments so far guys.

Got a quick update - ICBC called me and said that I will not have to see the adjuster this week, instead, they said I am eligible for the "express" program where I can go straight to any ICBC certified shop to get an estimate and essentially proceed to get it fixed.

They mentioned it would not affect my insurance, but, there is a $300 deductible that they will be trying to get from the hipster guy (since the police have all his information). I think the ICBC representative also mentioned that they would be trying to get that guy to foot the entire bill to fix the damage.

All in all, I'm sort of relieved. I really am not trying to "go after" or get back at the hipster guy. People make stupid mistakes, I just want the damage on my car to be fixed without me having to pay out of my own pocket. Hopefully, this will teach him a lesson, next time just throw popcorn or something.

bcrdukes 02-03-2014 04:36 PM

Looks like this came to a happy ending.

His life is shitty enough so throwing popcorn is like a charity to him. I'd know. Because hipster. :fuckyea:

sauceking88 02-03-2014 04:40 PM

I'll keep RS updated on what happens, so far, I'm actually responsible for the deductible until they can for sure get it from the hipster...

You never answered, did you ask him why he threw it?

Alby 02-03-2014 05:55 PM

i highly doubt them both will be speaking to each other any time soon

sauceking88 02-03-2014 05:57 PM

No, I didn't speak with him at all! I gave him a stare down though and flexed my pecs (not sure if he saw that through my coat).

To be serious though, the cops were involved already so I felt it was pointless to interfere. The guy was completely zooted, like he would be staring into space while trying to answer questions for the cops, I thought he was drugged out but the cops said he was just liquored up.

Bizarre behavior for sure!

You'd think most young men when liquored up are like "Where is the vagina?" rather than "Oh damn I can't wait to rip a mirror off a parked car and throw it at someone randomly"

Be sure to update your wordpress blog and include the fact that money is a state of mind for the oppressed and weak as you type in which obscure coffee shop is your new hangout on your $2500 Macbook Super Air.

Curious, if this dude wasn't homeless, but a regular guy on a bmx bike, that chased down the dude for you, would you offer him spare change as well?

:concentrate:

Granted, I'm sure any of us would have chased down that hipster douche.

good to know homeless guys can be model citizens too

You're making a generalization that if you're homeless then you are not a model citizen/person.
I know a few homeless people with better moral values than most people.

Hope you can get this sorted out op.

Qmx323 02-04-2014 12:53 PM

^ I think most people can't tell the difference between a pook and a homeless

Morals will never make your house or car payment

sauceking88 02-04-2014 03:15 PM

Btw, anyone have any bodyshop recommendations in the Burnaby area?

You kind of proved my point that wealth has nothing to do with morality.

fucking hipsters

E-SPEC 02-06-2014 10:00 AM

I owuld have dealt with it differently. Drove around the block, parked. grabbed the bat ran like a ninja sneaking up on him and out of no where Mark Mcguire'd his fucking leg. Pretty sure it would have been a silly move but i would leave feeling better than having it dealt w/ any other way. After all it was 3am. Pretty sure it can be pulled off and gotten away w/\.

How would you feel about it in the long run though?

I probably wouldn't do that because of the consequences, but I would feel great in the long run.

I'd feel great! Such a pointless and stupid thing for anyone to do. Someone who would do that deserves more than that!
