Just looking into this right now, what is the minimum connection speed you would recommend for a potential cord cutter? |

^ I've had an Amazon FireTV for over 6 months. I was lucky enough to get a model with rootable firmware, so I've 'jailbroken' it and have XBMC on it. It's not a bad unit, but it took some work to get it set up the way I wanted it to work. The hardware for the price is good, but it takes patience to get it working with Kodi/XBMC. I'm actually thinking about moving onto an HTPC which would better suit my needs. The HP Stream Mini looks awfully tempting. |
im also looking for a HTPC, for content as well as id like to play older DOS games and SCUMMVM games on my main TV without lugging my PC around to my living room.. As for the miniumum connection speed, depending on how many devices you have always connected i'd say min would be 20/25 |
I use this as my mini PC now, works pretty slick. Although you do have to do some thermal mods to it so it does not throttle the CPU when it gets too hot. Pipo X7 review | TechRadar Plays netflix SuperHD and Youtube 1080p60 smoothly. |
