Scraped my bumper, recommend a body shop? Long story short, an idiot cut in front of me and to avoid hitting him, I didn't calculate the space between the wall and I properly and I scraped it quite well. http://i.imgur.com/y3n7D2Nh.jpg BJ BMW quoted me at 300-350, but I'd like to know my options and what's out there before I drop that kind of money. If anyone can suggest a reputable body shop please let me know! |
300-350 is quite cheap to be honest. Does that price include R an I's? |
Boyd Autobody in Burnaby near the Kingsway Whitespot. |
you could probably buff most of it out if you dont want to spend money. srs |

300-350? wow i got quoted 400 to do my bumper on an old honda lmfao edit : sentence made no sense |
give A Jetway Bodyshop on main a call. (604)872-6222. The owner is Peter. He'll beat any price and does a great job |
$300-350 is actually a really good deal. That'st he kind of pricing you would expect from an Asia cash-only job. |
You can always bring it to a school and the students will do it, its cheap but takes a long time |
for $300-$350 make sure they don't use mobile repair shop like Color Works or so |

Buffed out the surrounding area, honestly it's not that bad, just a huge strip of paint missing. http://i.imgur.com/eYH0PcM.jpg Quote:

The service adviser at BMW looked at my damage and quoted me "$300-$350" and "bring it in in the morning and you can drive it away in a few hours" however I smell bs, especially when the cash-only Asian body shops also quoted me at about the same price, give or take some. |
He's probably thinking touch up paint with some wet sanding... Not going to be repaired properly in a "few hours". |
I think the 300-350 quote is going to be a color works type of job. (mask off bumper, paint just the corner and blend it within the bumper) |

That price is not bad at all. |
You should go to No 1 and get an estimate from them. It will be more than $350 to do it properly at No 1, unless they are just going to spot paint it. Which is the incorrect way to fix it but if BJBMW doesn't care about there lease returns, whatever. |
Personally I'd just buy a touch-up pen from BMW, touch it up and then see what happens when you return it. Maybe this happens again before the lease is up and you'll be spending the money again. No. 1 Collision is noted as the designated shop for most BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, etc however when they repaired and repainted my ITR it was single-handedly the worst job I have ever seen in my entire life. EVER. I actually chose them specifically because of the all the high end work they are known for. A mistake I will hopefully never make again. |
