No front lisence plate?

Is it now legal to remove your front license plate? I see so many new cars w/o them, but they do have it on the back. And no its not a temporary license number. I was told it was illegal by someone at the autoplan insurance.

....

Is illegal. You probably are seeing Alberta plates or people who are taking the risk of getting a VI just to make their front bumper look 'cleaner'

it is illegal, but sometimes people just run without them for looks

i think the ticket is cheaper for no front plate than a bent/relocated plate ei. windshield or one with plate covers on it

correct me if im wrong?

^ It is cheaper having no front plate because it is more dangerous on your dash

An obstructed plate Vt is more expensive than failing to display one. Go figure?/// PS...plate on dash = mobile decapitation device.

I'm looking for pictures or video of this... but all I can find are pics of umbrellas that ended up in the dash board (from the rear deck).

yes, officer told me that if you don't have a mount for your front license plate to leave it in your trunk instead of your dash since it's considered a razor (decapitation) lol

Oh GAWD.. these threads make me wish we had the fail button in this sub-forum.

Every time i come in here and get disappointed when the fail button doesn't appear.

These threads don't even deserve to be in the Police Forum.

Just move it back to Off topic so we can fail it

My brother had his licence plate on the dash of his FWD 300 hp Eagle Talon. He did a huge choppy burnout with tranny-breaking wheel hop and the plate jumped off the dash and sliced my hand (in the passenger seat). I can only imagine how much damage it would cause in an MVI

I have seen what it does. Not nice. Always wished I had carried some of the crash pictures to show to those who thought it was BS, what it looks like to have a huge razor blade flying around inside a confined area.

Bumper mounted razor blades. Surely that should cause an uproar amongst pedestrian safety advocates.

I seriously hope you're being sarcastic, (I think you are) as license plates are securely bolted to front bumper.
