taken from actual WCCE page: I want to personally make an apology to those that attended todays event. I care about the car community just as much as anyone of you do. I will admit that I asked someone to do a burn out. That was a big mistake on my part and just set off a chain reaction of other unfortunate events. I have learned that i need to step things up and be more organized if i want to continue doing these events. its been a long time dream of mine to hosts things like these and i dont want it to go to waste over one event. As an organizer, it is hard to keep control of everyones actions, but yes, rules and regulations should have been put in place and in the future, will be put in place. I thank you all and appreciate you coming out today. we will take steps to ensure that this does not happen again. - Lorenzo |
Best route to take after that shameful display would disband and give up. Rev scene owns the west coast. Posted via RS Mobile |
this meet was a total shit show. i pull in leading a crew of 8, and we had reserved parking, i pull up to this kid and the first thing he says is "this is MY meet." with that inclination okay cool... "hey, i had reserved parking for acurazine, where should i go?" "just go park somewhere at the end" WTF what is your problem buddy we came to support what your doing not to try and be hard. why would you even reserve spots if it means nothing. we may not have $300,000 cars but we notified them properly. but i see an R8 and AMG whatever pulling in and getting reserved spots no problem whatever, park, get out, and just walking from the end of the lot to the main booth i see: 4 or 5 mustangs just rev limiting from cold starts burnounts and drifts out of the lot every 3 minutes and at least 15 or 20 people shouting encouragement this was honestly really sad. such a bad look for the scene and i had to fucking yell at the driver of some POS focus cause his "burnout" almost flattened my toe. |
More curious about condition of SMG clutch in that M5... |
I would have gone, but I didn't want to spend my afternoon picking up everyone's garbage... again. Kev |
edit/ woops repost glad i didn't bother going to this. probably saved myself from a few rock chips and soaked feet |

Just having the facebook event* deleted will only put fingers pointing at Revscene since it's well aware that RS hold meets at Spanish Banks as well |
And for the record, I attended the Paul Walker meet in December. There was something nice about that turnout. The raw emotion of having a clusterfuck of enthusiasts altogether in one place. That feeling made up for the pure lack of organization or foresight on the part of the people who put the event together. In spite of the 50-60 uncontrolled burnouts, or the young guy trying to draw the attention to himself, or the trash lying everywhere, there was something nice about the diversity at the event that I enjoyed. With that being said, I knew it would be difficult to recapture that moment in another event. Those weaknesses would make themself apparent. So in spite of my desire to participate, and the countless FB updates about the event, I ignored it. In some way I'm not surprised at all the incidents today. I held out some hope the organizers would get their act together and keep in mind that they are representing the whole import community as a whole but from what I could see, there were no warnings about troublesome behaviour. This was about the glory of the people organizing the event. Not about the event itself. Although I don't see eye-to-eye with some of the people who run RS, I can say that I do respect their ability to run a problem free event involving hundreds of testosterone-driven young men driving fast cars (well, some of you have fast cars but I digress). WCCE, it's time to learn a thing or two before trying to replicate what RS and it's countless volunteers have done. Kev |

Looks like Lorenzo has made a full apology. I want to personally make an apology to those that attended todays event. - Lorenzo This is the reason why we didn't want Lorenzo promoting his event here on Revscene - NOT because we felt competition from his meet. The last thing we wanted was to be associated with some of these out of control members driving their cars into ditches. We are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but we have learned and grown over the years and make great efforts to make things safe, enjoyable and fun. These are things that can be taken for granted and hopefully Lorenzo and WCCE can learn from this. I think we can eventually work together to make the car community safe and enjoyable. |
Man I should have went I love watching stupid people. And it looks like they don't know when you have to turn on your window wiper's to wipe off your window that means they don't dry the ground too. |
Don't post much but...this event was full of idiots that had no respect for anyone else's safety or their vehicles. That M5 driver almost hit my friends younger brother with the back end of the car. Hell some Supra guys told me to come park by them and a group of these "idiots" who I had parked near when I first entered kept telling a friend and I to do burnouts...I respectfully declined and moved to the area with the Supra's at the end of the parking lot. It will be my first time bringing my car to a RevScene meet but I have attended in the past and it has never been like this. Looking forward to that meet at least. |
That said, some pretty funny memes being posted up... https://scontent-b-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/...36220474_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...30aae131ce4d0e |
