HTC One (M8)

Anyone going to get this? I'm tempted to switch from my nexus 5 to this.

dont see a reason to make a switch, doesn't seem like an upgrade at all

it looks nice though aside from that 'htc' border that needlessly elongates the phone

Tr1ll 03-25-2014 03:42 PM

Of course Fido won't be carrying it..

Gonna be picking this up to replace my Nexus 4.

Szeto 03-25-2014 03:59 PM

I think engadget said the camera was lackluster, huge disappointment. I held a dummy in my hand and it felt pretty good but if the camera is shit then i don't see a point in getting this at all

DavidNguyen 03-25-2014 04:04 PM

Yah. Camera really leggy.

Samples don't look good, pictures still grainy.

Also it's so damn long. Last year's One was long enough.

It looks good, but no OIS? :(

And here's the Play edition:

quite disappointed regards to the camera.

Szeto 03-25-2014 09:19 PM

maybe a firmware update will fix that...? now that most phones are out I am just waiting for z2 to come out so reviewer can do a better comparison :D

korroke 03-25-2014 11:19 PM

Do you guys think it is worth it for me to go from a htc butterfly to a htc one m8?

Recon604 03-28-2014 02:15 PM

i jsut got it, im very impressed. the camera isnt even that bad, its pretty damn sharp. Very solid device, feels great in the hand

Anyone upgrading to the M8 from the HTC One? Is it worth it?

BaoTurbo 04-01-2014 12:15 AM

Just played with it at work. Decent phone actually with the perfect size and dual camera. Nothing special like extraordinary but nevertheless a good upgrade if you take a lot of pics and like to read on your phone. Not a fan of sense still, thats about it

Recon604 04-01-2014 05:44 AM

Camera pics are a little washed out. Hopefully an firmware update will fix that.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Nexus.
I came from an HTC One M7 and dont regret it at all

ForbiddenX 04-09-2014 05:17 PM

Thinking of getting an M8 to replace my broken Nexus 5. How's it so far for those who have been using it for some time?

zonda_s 04-09-2014 08:55 PM

coming from an s3, i'm actually very happy with it. camera's ok, but definitely was not a dealbreaker for me unlike other people. the metal body makes it feel very solid. audio and processing performance is good. the sense UI only took me an hour or so to get used to. of course, i'm coming from an android OS variant which made the transition a lot easier.

yogenfruz 04-09-2014 10:32 PM

IIRC, there's a "Google" version with stock android and no sense overtop, right? Could be worth it as HTC Sense has been pretty shitty in my own experience.

ForbiddenX 04-09-2014 10:52 PM

I've heard that Sense 6 isn't as bad as previous versions.

The more I read and look into the M8 the more I want it... the only thing holding me back is the camera.
