Vancouver Auto Show 2014 -- My Quick Preview [PICS]
Hi guys,
I was at the media preview this morning for the Vancouver auto show. Here are a few pics to whet your appetites for the upcoming weekend. Show's already open to the public so you can head down any time.
I was very curious about the BMW i3 and the i8, so spent some time at the BMW booth. The i8 is quite dramatic in person. The i3 less so but it's a surprisingly interesting looking car. As equipped the show car was about 51k which sounds a lot for a city car until you think about how much technology is in it.
The driving simulator at the Ford booth is well worth checking out! It's not quite as smooth as the competing Subaru Gran Turismo simulator at the front door, but the Ford one does have a moving platform which reacts to weight transfers in the game. Super cool and will probably have a long lineup come weekend time. Get there early and drive it first.
The rest of the show had the usual assortment of new models like the CLA AMG, Audi A3, etc. The venue is now at the Convention Centre and while it's smaller, it's MUCH nicer inside and as a venue, feels way more high end.
Also at BMW was the M235i. I recently reviewed that car on the track and the video is here if you're at all interested:
