i just saw this on youtube of all places:

Yahoo Japan Auctions. eBay Japan

according to the ad, they say you can see yahoo japan auction stuff in english, pay using paypal, and do international shipping... has anyone tried this before?

if it's legit... i wish i had this back when i used to have a japanese car

There are tons of middlemen sites (parts houses) that offer the same service, with most, it's an easy transaction and they deal with all the shipping.

I'm in the same boat here, I want to buy on yahoo japan. Has anyone found a good middleman site for car parts, particularly big parts?

Googling comes up with many but it's hard to tell which ones are legit...

https://www.importmonster.com.au

Based in Australia, but it's a reliable source, and the site is easy to use.

depending where you get it, they may charge an arm and a leg for shipping, as most do not ship without a tracking number. i have been using fromjapan to get items, you can also try whats always at the top of Yahoo auction japan as well, Buyee? i think it was called

I've been wanting to use Buyee, but I'm weary of the shipping charges; for most items, you won't have the dimensions or weight to properly estimate what your charges will be.

i had a friend who was in the US military in japan and he would get me stuff all the time and ship it from his base via USPS so the shipping rates were the equivalent of usps ground and it was damn cheap compared to EMS.

but after his tour of duty was over and he came back to the US my luck ran out. i ended up trying rinkya and what tigger commented above happened to me and i've been reluctant to do it ever since.

i know there are many services out there, but i don't know which to choose from. if anyone has any positive experiences with one of these services that they would recommend please post.

Ive used rinkya too. Everything went smooth and i got the wheels i wanted. Theres definitely fees but if you read through the site carefully there isnt any surprises.

For myself, i wouldnt say you are saving much money with this process. Its just for situations where there is a must have item you cant get anywhere else.

Japanparts.com - JDM Parts,Performance Auto Parts

used this for late model cars.... may not have what you need but if they do it's just like buying from States.

Anyone have experience with any other middlemen sites? I've checked out Rinkya, seems like an option, but pricey. I agree though, probably won't be saving money, just looking for rare stuff.
