For shredding targets and such without all the complications of a gun requiring a PAL it sure works well.
555 rounds of .22lr is $25. Perfect varmint round.

Transporting just requires a LATT/long term ability to transport, your firearm registration papers (if restricted), and PAL.

storing is pretty simple, just need to be stored in an opaque case secured with a lock and a trigger lock on the actual firearm itself (or something that locks the action, or even removing the bolt for some rifles all together)

Safes are not required, but I got one anyways for peace of mind.

It's actually even easier than that.

If your firearm is not restricted, all you need is... Your PAL.

If your firearm is restricted, you'll need a long term ATT, the registration, and your RPAL.

As for storing of your firearms:

Non-restricted: secure locking device or cabinet/room that is difficult to break into.
Restricted: secure locking device and opaque case/cabinet/room with another lock on it.

All the above will require the firearm that is unloaded.

I just don't like DVC because shooting inside feels so wrong

That .. and i don't exactly like the idea of people with no previous gun experience being handed a loaded pistol and being told "Go nuts" 2 feet away from me. I can't imagine how many times someone has pointed a pistol/rifle/shotgun to their left or right instead of only pointing directly down-range

Demographics are a bit better at PoCo too -- Last time i went me and the group of friends I went with were the only 'younger' people there, remainder were all people who looked/behaved like they were well into their late 20s/early 30s

For those of you who have SO's/GF's/Family that oppose guns, how'd you overcome it? I'm going to buy one eventually, just preparing myself for the verbal lashing from some very anti-gun cousins/friends

When the zombie apocalypse comes just remind them that it's one man one kit.

i dunno...lol...i took the gf's brother in law up to stave lake for his first time shooting, first thing we saw while we were shooting around the 20-25km area was a group of redneck fucks beer bonging while stoned and shooting straight up into the sky. on our way out we saw an rcmp suv going up the trail...so hopefully they saw them.

nice grouping, how long have you been shooting?

im not really big into pistol caliber carbines but everyone has preferences at the end of the day its still a pistol round and they werent meant for range but that being said if i had to choose one itd be the Beretta storm cx4

shot a type 97 it shot pretty well even though it was a norinco :P id love a tavor or try to shoot a fn f2000 but heard if you jam in a f2000 its a bitch to clear only thing is price tags i just dont see myself spending 2700k+ on a gun alone

stewie didnt know maybe a range wouldve been better haha

I've never met a "back country" person that's careless with guns.

It's city people that weren't raised around guns that are generally the issue.

But that's only my experience.

I just passed my CORE and PAL at the end of April and sent in my paperwork....so I wait. I plan on hunting, so I am looking into a decent 7mm and also have my eye on a BPS or Supernova. I have a friend buying the Supernova, so I will try his out before deciding.

My price range is under a grand for the rifle, sights can be extra.

Got my Rpal last year and shoot regularly at DVC. Started to reload to save money LOL. For guys who like toys this is an extremely expensive hobby. Really close to buying a Tavor.

OP if you are serious about getting your license, look at silvercore. I did the course through them and they made it a really enjoyable experience. If you fail that course you really shouldn't own firearms IMO.

^ too many rounds yes, but we're allowed SBR's, its just they become restricted no?

I was looking at a 10.5" before just down at reliable.
