Thats not what he said. It may have been what he meant to say, but far from what he said.

Passed my test, missed 1 shoulder check... now hopefully it will impact the possible suspension. Can still legally drive until I get a response from the review.

The only way having your class 5 will impact the prohibition is that when you get your licence back, it'll be a class 5 licence instead of having to start your N time from the beginning.

when I spoke with someone in Victoria about my prohibition she basically said to just submit a sob story about how it will affect me. it would will help more than talking about previous driving experience

So surprisingly that after when you get a lawyer to write a submission for you to not get prohibited there is still a chance to get prohibited! Now I wonder is that if that person still gets prohibited for 3 months. What will happen after that three months is over? Will they have to wait for another 2 years till then can get their class 5 or will it just resume from where they were left off??

If the entire suspension is removed then the DL should be resumed where it was before it was suspended, as if nothing ever happened at all...but this is not the case, as you are admitting the suspension started and are requesting that the period of suspension be reduced because of your sob story. The reset of the 2 year period should happen, reinstatement fees paid and you begin at ground zero for a new 2 year period...not what was left of your existing one.

Any updates? Did you end up disputing it? Currently in the exact same position, called ICBC and the lady told me to submit a sob story as well... Debating if I should pay the extra $100.

I wrote a letter, explained my case and the lack of tickets in my driving history and they ended up not suspending me. I got my full license just in case it was suspended so I wouldn't have to do the whole process again..

I should get you to write a letter to my ex's divorce lawyer...I could do with some lower alimony payments!!! :)

Thanks for the reply. I got my full license a week after I got the letter too. It would totally suck to wait another 2 years to get the full license. Did they cancel the suspension without any conditions? Any probation period?
