Making an aftermarket muffler quieter?

Hi guys,

I have a question about my muffler...
So I bought my Civic and it came with an OBX-R muffler
I have a sort of dilemma, I am fond of the sound it makes, but it's also too loud for me.
I'm wondering if any of you would know of a way to tone down the volume?
I was thinking of adding another resonator along the exhaust piping, bit am unsure what sort of effects it would have, like if it would change the note/pitch of the sound, or if it would even have much of an affect on the volume, etc.

Any input would be appreciated!
Thanks!
