So bike's all fixed. My idiot ass fried both the cluster and the Ducati Performance ECU. New cluster in along with the OEM ECU. I'll probably remap it in the future instead of getting another expensive DP setup.

A warning to anyone as big of an idiot as myself, DO NOT JUMP YOUR BIKE WITH A RUNNING CAR!

Bike's all ready to come home. Picking her up tomorrow morning. She sounds monstrous. I'll update tomorrow with some photos and a video or something.

Don't know how true this is but I read that in order for Duc's to pass emissions they retard the bikes during idle. This means when you twist the throttle, nothing happens in the first 5mm then suddenly the torque comes in like a mofo. Combined with the -1,+2 sprockets, the bike pretty much only wants to lift up the front end and she'll do it through 4th gear.

Picked up a G2 Ergonomics Throttle Tamer to smooth out the bike's acceleration. It removes all the play from the throttle assembly and the cammed gear relaxes the roll-on and acts as a quick turn for the last half of throttle. Will install and test in the next couple of days.

Burble burble.

I was meeting someone next door. Figured I might as well park with the bikes at Richmond Ducati for a few photos. Hahaha

Just love that headlight ... if I had a Street Triple or a Speed Triple that's the style I would want.

Oops, should've credited to the amazing photographer: Marcel Lech.

Hey man. Yeah I'm pretty much there everyday LOL. So you're the 335 guy! Come say hi or have a smoke next time.

I got there, ordered a drink and realized I lost my house keys and left my wallet at Chevron in Squamish. I had to use pocket change to buy gas so I could make it there, hahahha. One of those days...

So I was headed over to the hipster bike show to collect my trophy when my charging system decided to self-destruct. No warning, working 100% until the bike shut off in traffic. Ditched in a secret location and skytrained home . The good life of Ducati ownership.
Special thanks to Kevin at Bayside for the bike rescue.

Went for a Squambucks run on the first sunny day this year with !e.lo and another buddy who should be on here. We were on the way to gas up for the ride home when the gear lever ended up getting jammed in third.

After deliberating the options we decided to bump start the bike and just limp it back to Vancouver for repairs. BMW/Duc Van is just off the highway so doable as long as I didn't really need to stop often. The bike has a dry clutch so I would have about 100 or so start/pulls before it inevitably overheats. As a huge fan of dry clutches this is probably the only situation where the far superior dry-clutch design kind of sucks.

After two minutes of riding we encountered a huge traffic jam. Fuck. Worst case scenario. Start/stop in third wouldn't be possible so did the obvious. Unfortunately my absolute minimum speed in third is about 35km/h. Sketchily dodged a few thousand mirrors (the traffic went all the way back to Van) and made it back to Van. The bike was not happy and the clutch finally overheated exactly one light away from where it's been now for the last few weeks.

So turns out when Ducati first hand-assembled the transmissions they used some shittier materials for the fork-selector spring. Most Ducatis built around '06-'08 had this exact problem and a lot of bikes got stuck in gear and got repaired under warranty. As this particular Duc happened to be a garage queen it's entire life before my neanderthal-ass got a hold of it, the tranny never got updated. It has always been a bit clumsy to shift and I've been told the tranny update will completely fix the issue.

About a set of forged magnesium Marchesini's worth of repairs later... got my 12k valve adjustment done, new fluids, the transmission update and ditched my garbage Dunlop Q3s for some super sticky Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsa SP V2s. Waiting for the mechanics to finish their series of test rides. Bike should be back on the road in about a week.
