Basically you have to suck the manufacturer's dick or you won't get to drive the cars

How could you do an unbiased car review blog without getting banned by the manufacturers from having access to their cars? How would you get access to them in the first place?

First thing I would do:

Put slicks on it, brake torque launch

Second thing I would do:

Drive it around and give a real-world impression of the car

... and from what capt. slow found out, the video would not last more than 13 minutes :lol

I kinda think GT350 will be a poor man's GT500

Am I the only person who thinks these huge horsepower numbers are actually hurtful to auto enthusiasts?

So much of the driver's experience is independent of having gobs of power. Typical of modern life though the manufacturers are focusing on the one thing that the slobbering fucking retard unwashed masses understand: HORSEPOWER

MarkyMark 08-13-2014 07:17 PM

Meh when it comes to muscle cars it's the numbers that sell. No one likes the bragging rights of horsepower numbers more than a muscle car owner.

The new GT500 is said to have 750hp-800hp. Just google search, it'll be more than Challenger's 707hp.

If you don't like horsepower war, just go buy Miata or Elise.

yeah exactly

Now that Mustang is going to have 750+hp stock, I bet Camaro will have 800+hp and I'm sure Dodge will come up with even higher hp Challenger.

...and what happened to Viper and Corvette...?

multicartual 08-14-2014 01:34 AM

Next Camaro ZL1... 850 hp.

What would be really cool is if Viper and Corvette both lost weight and gained higher-revving engines with the car geared more towards driver experience than brutal horsepower. Set to compete with the GT350.

This is exactly what Japanese and British cars are for, light weight and fun driving experience with high-revving engine.

I would rather see Corvette and Viper trying to compete with GT-R and other supercars.
They're all talking about entering less than 7:00 on Nurburgring. I would love to see this competition getting escalated.

it doesn't really matter though. thats why theres a few different variations of the mustang. all the way from a v6 to a ludicrous 700+hp gt500. those who want a good all around car buy the gt, those that one a burnout machine that slaughters most of the cars on the road buy the gt500. the mustang has to be one of the most versatile cars out there.

all that being said, matt farah had a point with his review on the 2013 roush stage 3. for that type of car/chassis the 600hp is way too much. its hard to have any real fun in the car without either trying to kill yourself or get arrested.

matt farah's review of the roush stage 3.

I bet if you and I got on a closed course with that car and took turns driving the shit out of it we would both be laughing and having a ton of fun thrashing it!

Impressive or not, I have no doubt that a C63 is a smile factory

thumper 08-22-2014 11:49 AM

what 8 gears sounds like on the dyno:

... and these are the figures they got

635 hp and 591 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels.
About 722 hp at the crank.
672-lb-ft Torque

You want a lighter car with a lower displacement, heavier, bigger, DOHC higher revving engine?
