Seriously though, how does this 100 dollar discount work, is it just a coupon code?

Someone forward theirs to me. I know most of you have no intention of using it...

knight604 05-27-2014 01:39 PM

There are so many individuals out that are still bitching and whining how they won't ever buy from Lenovo after this. These individuals never had the intention or ever will buy in the first place. These aren't even loyal customers. All the twitter and fb comments to get social media attention is ridiculous.

Spoon 05-28-2014 07:45 AM

Social medias full of bitches. They'll crawl back when the next deal comes along.

most ppl ordered, probably were going to flip it on CL/kijiji for profit. :QQ:
but then offering $100 coupon on limited time next purchase is lame move as well

Lol @ the number of people saying that lenovo did this to steal their personal information.

You must be able to come up with a better excuse as to why they should honour the deal than that...

Lenovo is a tech company, they build computers and sell them. They are not interested in selling email addresses.

Psykopathik 05-28-2014 02:36 PM

as an RFD veteran this does not surprise me. move on to the next deal folks. nuttin' to see here.

mk1freak 05-28-2014 02:41 PM

I'm just happy to get my cc charges back, 300 bucks richer :fuckyea:

gars 05-28-2014 03:35 PM

I was seriously going to give my parents my desktop, and use this as my regular computer. ah well, too bad so sad.

I thought it was a price error at first when I saw the thread. I looked through their site and there were a handful of laptops (at least) that had the same discount applied. The "DOORBUSTER" deal was listed on the website, banners, and each individual laptop page, so I assumed it was a legit deal. My assumption was based on the fact that they could simply be using this deal as a way of clearing out older stock, so I went into it expecting to get the laptop :lol

Now they're backtracking and stating that every single "DOORBUSTER" deal laptop was simply a price error. If each and every single one of those deals was a price error, then why were banners created that labeled those specific models as ones that are applicable during the "DOORBUSTER" deal?

It just reeks of a company simply using a bait and switch tactic. :suspicious:

:seriously: :rukidding:

The banner clearly said up to 41% off on the DOORBUSTER sale, yet many of the price error systems were advertising over 100% savings; that didn't clue you in? Or the simple fact that IT SAID OVER 100% OFF SAVINGS.

They likely intended to put those specific items on sale but somehow some poor low level data entry person accidentally put a decimal point in the wrong place that skewed the discount on the promo code across the board.

And as for 'bait and switch'... You actually think Lenovo thought they would be successful in upselling consumers who are willing to pay for a system for $279, to a system for $1,299 instead? getthefuckouttahere...

I don't know if people are just playing dumb to get the deal, or are ACTUALLY that dumb.

:suspicious: 100% savings= free

zilley 05-28-2014 05:14 PM

not sure if mentioned but to me this is all just a marketing tactic.

now they give 100 off to make 300 - 500 bucks off you.

so was the doorbusters to get everyone looking through their webpage for other items and deals.

Dragon-88 05-28-2014 05:34 PM

Meh, I'd only want the Helix or Thinkpad Yoga anyways.. Some people are just too butthurt over this. Get over it people, life will always have disappointments. Trying to justify your hate is a lost cause.

Exactly what I was saying. The deals page had systems advertised as more than 100% off yet people still didn't clue in it might have been an error:

.

lets be honest here, im pretty sure 99% of the people that bought in on this deal click on the RFD link and just ordered the one n only highend laptop for $279 n didnt check the others, so majority of the ppl would've missed the 119% off tag that r in other laptop selections, all i saw was 79% off for the y410p model from start to finish so i never realy suspected anything, although in the back of my mind i kinda knew it was a pricing error

i know i didnt see the 119% off tag on other laptops cus i also thought they were clearing out old laptops for cheap n didnt bother checking out other laptops cus this one was "good enough" for my mom to use, if i had seen that 119% off tag then i would've known this was for sure a pricing error

TOPEC 05-28-2014 11:34 PM

dbl post

knight604 05-28-2014 11:41 PM
