Everyone looks for validation and most people get a healthy enough amount from friends and family. If buddy was ignored by family and friends, then exposed to our oversexed media and pornography, I can easily see why he might find himself completely worthless to women, male friendship, and society as a whole. Read what people wrote to him on YouTube before he went on his spree, he was mercilessly attacked on his looks and attitude.

His posting about how he felt about himself were his parachute; a bruised ego always seeks a soft landing, it's completely natural. Obviously he was highly intelligent and realized his looks, attitude, and behavior were completely incompatible with the lifestyle he wanted, one where he fucked tons of bitches and had fun.

Being the type of guy who fucks lots of bitches and gets wasted, I can understand his jealously. Being 36, it is so fascinating to me that society has changed so completely since I was a teenager. Shit that was just a fantasy of mine when I was 19 became routine in my 30's.

I've been able to adapt very well, and I've prospered, but it's obvious that so many people are confused and angry about their expectations of this world we inhabit.

lol. at that age i drove a gold colored 2000 acura tl with tan interior. i was also fat around 240lbs and i was able to pull in chicks with ease. granted the numbers weren't very high but i was still pulling in chicks.. i used hi5 a lot back in those days lol. worked like a fucking charm.

Sounds pretty fucking unintelligent to me. He creates a disguise in his videos desperately trying to use a select group of big words and speaks with a fake shakesperian tone. He went to community college, had no friends, and a life of no successes whatsoever when he was essentially handed a life of privilege and opportunity. He's the fucking antithesis of intelligent.

Ironically, Isla Vista is probably one of the easiest places to get laid. Total college town right on the water with legit Project X style house parties every weekend. It's insane.

Silly boy, girls and sex was the least of his problems in life. Yet he gave his life for that reason.

The way he carried himself was probably half of why he wasn't having success with women, the way he talks in his video is cringe worthy at best, his motions are also a bit on the awkward side.

It's hard to say that he should have just been more confident in himself, since I have issues with self image myself, but simply going out on foot and interacting with people in order to complete everyday chores builds self esteem, he seemed too set on riding around in his Bimmer alone all day. Before you reference his posts about being superior, know that it's easy to say those things when nobody is around to question you in person, he was probably very insecure in real life.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there (in principle). Someone could be the most intelligent person in the world, but still have mental health issues that cause them to act completely irrationally. It's not like he is a religious murderer going around thinking he is going to go to heaven and finally get laid if he kills a bunch of people. He probably had a very serious mental disease that went untreated, combined with a shitty spoiled self-righteous upbringing.

Much like someone could be an amazing athlete, but lose their performance due to an injury, someone can be really smart but literally "lose their mind" to mental illness and even depression.

I'm not saying untreated mental illness isn't a cause of so many of these types of situations, but when is the line drawn between someone being mentally ill and just a genuine piece of shit? One can argue that anyone who finds themselves capable of ending any human life without just cause, or anyone who has unprovoked malice towards another living being without reason is mentally ill. Where is the line and where is it just a terrible personality? I believe that the mind is nearly as incomprehensible and unquantifiable as religion and spirituality. I mean obviously there is more science behind it than religion with chemical imbalances that can be measured and studied in the brain, but we'd be kidding ourselves to think that science can quantify individuals thoughts. I'm getting a bit overly existentialist here with my point of view but its a dangerous slope to use mental illness as a scapegoat. (Not accusing you of doing such, but again, its becoming used as the only answer every time someone kills more than one person.)

Not to be crass, but I think that line is drawn when that person goes from bitching on Youtube to murdering a bunch of people.
