With a bit of modification. I think the shifter linkage brackets need to be moved or something, not too sure. The swap isn't for the lighthearted though, that's for sure, lol.

no, the stock e153 trans doesn't need modifying in the linkages.

the two things that don't work is:
1) one bolt hole needs to be helicoiled
2) one bolt hole you just can't do anything about.

everything else is bolt on.

to op:

it depends what i want to do and what i consider as a replacement engine. thanks to toyota and its multi-compatibility: anywhere in the range of 500-5000 for just the motor.

Lol no way, I guess you've been doing a lot more research than me :P I've just been looking at 3Ses a lot lately, especially since our trip to KO.

If my 4AGE blew up, I'd just move up to a 20-valve 4AGE Blacktop... can typically be found on eBay for $1500~ USD + shipping. Not bad, actually.

Long blocks are $200 at PickaPart.

I'd drop $1500-2000 on a K-series, though.

In terms of a V6, I've driven a 1MZ/3MZ one, with a 3MZ longblock and 1MZ parts, and rode in a 2GR powered one. I really want to do a 3MZ into my Celica GTS since it's a pretty easy swap for the FWD Celicas, the GTFour I've given myself some limitations on mods so I think it'll be a 2g 3S for life. I'd love to come down to a met but it's a bit of a trek for me haha, if I'm ever in Van I'll swing by.

Renesis 13B out of an RX-8? About $3k

If my motor blew up, an exact used replacement is about $500~

$2500 for a reman engine, or go down to the states and probably find one for ~$1000 but unknown mileage
