7th gen accord v6

Hi guys, my vehicle has recently been having a bunch of problems pop up. What could be the issue if it is shaking when accelerating slowly from a stop? I had engine mounts replaced before, but now the passenger side has snapped again I think because mechanic lifted the engine incorrectly thus having it rest on the axle or something because I only noticed the shaking after he replaced the mounts. I can tell its not from the new mounts because the engine does not jolt back and forth like when the mounts were snapped. When I accelerate the car does not have much power anymore.

dropped a cylinder?

Have you tried pulling any codes?

I'm suspecting it's a transmission issue. My buddy and I tried changing the transmission fluid in hope of fixing his slipping issue. Right after he had jerking issues when accelerating from low speeds but it was fine from a complete stop.

Another side effect was his car only works in first and second gear now. It didn't shift beyond that and we did a quick test on the highway.

Driving around in his car afterwards felt like the car was stuck in second gear most of the time and I believe you might have a similar issue.

Good luck.

No check engine light? That's odd

Transmission problem on a v6 7gen? That's impossible! :troll:

The shaking could also be attributed to an unbalanced rim or axle. Wouldn't have anything to do with power loss, however.

03-05? mileage?

its most likely the tranny, do a drain and fill (3 times) and see if there is a difference

Maybe coil pack

Coil pack would most likely throw a code, for cylinder misfire.

Dirty throttle body? Air filter?

On my 6th gen accord, I had symptoms just like yours because of a dirty IACV...my 7.5, the throttle body is computer operated...not sure if the 03-05's have a throttle cable or not, but if they do, it could be that also.

241k kms.. tranny was rebuilt, its shifting completely fine. I remember when the mounts first snapped, I had power loss until it was fixed. I am pretty sure that is the issue now, but I am just trying to find the issue with the shaking. The mechanic took a look when I first reported the shaking after he replaced the mounts, he said it looks like the right axle or something like that. I am guessing the axles could have been damaged if he didn't lift the engine properly when doing the mounts correct? Forgot to mention, the power loss is only when accelerating hard. it does pick up once the vehicle gets past the shaking between 60km-100kms, then it just sails again smoothly. I feel the jolting of the engine hitting against the vehicle when I step suddenly on the accelerator.
