We have a couple good friends there that could help you out on both service and sales side @ the Porsche Center.

If you're actually serious and would like to talk to someone about the car/price shoot me a PM and I can forward you their contact info.

Has Porsche Langley opened yet?

Porsche Centre Vancouver wouldn't even give me $500 off when I was looking. They are in need of some competition

Being that they are Porsche, they really are not in the market to give any kind of deals on there cars. $500 off is nothing when it comes to a $150,000 car.
Often times they are more likely to throw in some options than to take money off the car

The mezger is an awesome powerplant and I love the sound it makes which is lost with the new 991 but you gain so many other things its hard to not go to the 991.
The only current model I am considering is the GT3. Not a fan of the C2 or C4 or the Turbo. The GT2 would be a lot of fun but not my cup of tea.
The Turbo would be a true everyday car but I'm more a track/auto-x/fun drive kind of person and I have other cars if speed is what I am wanting.

What year GT3 do you have?
It's an 04. I've had it forever. I tried the 997 (.1 and .2) GT3, and didn't think it was an upgrade. I have yet to drive a car that feels like the 6-3 in terms of road feel, lightness, danger, rawness, the whole package. If I really wanted to go fast (as you said too), I'd probably just get a GTR and call it a day. But I like to be involved in the experience.

The engine in the 996/7 GT3 was built from the GT1's success in racing. The 991 GT3 however was built from the carrera - the reason why a lot of people are slamming the new GT3. 6/7 GT3's came from racing, the 991 didn't. That said, I'm sure the 991 GT3 is amazing to drive, it looks cool, is from the right company, ticks all the right boxes, I probably wouldn't refuse one if offered to me.

But does the homologation, racing pedigree, track derived engine thing really even matter that much? Probably not. The most important point is that if you like it, who cares what anyone else thinks. It's still pretty much one of the best cars on the planet.

For some reason I found that air cooled 911s worth more than liquid cooled ones.

Usually, or almost always, 964 and 993 are more expensive than 996.

The thought of selling my 944 turbo track car and e39 and getting a 996 crosses my mind daily...

Yeah, I stand by that comment. I don't think anyone would be silly enough to disagree with me.

To the OP, the 991 GT3 is a fantastic machine. The only downsides that I see are the absence of a manual option and the lack of rear seats, which makes it a 2 seater rather than a 2+2.

The GT3 has always been a two seater. Nothing new.

the backseats are useless in the normal 911 as long as the person is over 5'5" .

Nonsense. It's not a comfortable place to be but fine for short distances for the vast majority of people. You have to sit with your knees splayed open and the frt seat goes between your knees when the seat back is put back.

Sure. It's actually more spacious than 90% of the cars in the Lower Mainland.

There's a immaculate white GT3 that just arrived at Weissach for sale. 22K KM 6 speed fucking gorgeous. Listed for 95K CDN and driving it in the summer would be spectacular.

I know what I'm doing on my day off. Going to look at it and then going to go home and cry.

You know if you make an assertion that you can't support, you're really just talking crap.
