Just got update on Canucks app we resigned tanev to 5 year extension. Haven't read it all yet

I know which jersey I'm buying next now that I know he's locked in for 5 more years.

What are our thoughts on price? I know he's a great D defencemen.. But wish he put up more points

I was thinking more in the neighbourhood of 3.5M myself but if he continues to make strides, 4.45 could be a bargain for the latter part of the contract.

Time will tell.

I think 4 million a year would be more palatable. But it isn't a gross overpayment. He makes Edler a better player I believe, so there is value in that.

Couldn't be more happier for Tanev. Quietly made the roster, then quietly earned his big contract.

As much as I was bitter with CoHo trade at the time, if the rumors were true, then it makes me appreciate more when these non-blue chip players like Burrows or Tanev pave their way into the league and contracts.

Brodie is one of the most underrated Defenceman :heckno:
