They should stay with Eddie. Lack is not the reason that the guys lost tonight.
Turnovers at the blue line, Pizzaman and Bieksa not clearing the puck out of the zone, and the powerless powerplay, did the team in tonight.

There's no way WD should start a goalie like Miller when we all know that he's played only one game after returning from injury. He's too inconsistent in his play to replace Eddie now.

It was frustrating to watch our forwards not being able to get quality scoring chances in transition during the 2nd and 3rd periods.

Vrbata was no Vrbadass. -just bad. Bonino was invisible. I don't remember these players making shots that required Hiller to make good saves.

punkwax 04-15-2015 08:45 PM

Just needed to clear the zone. Both goals were a result of weak clearing attempts and there were a lot more than 2. Frustrating to watch.

willystyle 04-15-2015 08:45 PM

Eddie is not the problem here. It's the players in front of him that's the problem.

willystyle 04-15-2015 08:46 PM

I don't think our weak clearing attempts will go away anytime soon. We've been having those issues all season long.

spoon.ek9 04-15-2015 08:47 PM

I can't for the life of me figure out why they don't do the simple thing and put it off the boards and out to relieve the pressure. They did it correctly for the large majority of the season.

Harvey Specter 04-15-2015 08:47 PM

Unless Eddie gave up 4 goals I would say go with Miller but it was your typical not getting the puck out BS by the Canucks D. And we had a few PP chances which we failed on which could have got us the win.

Oh well, it's only the first game of the series so no need to hit the panic button...yet.

6o4__boi 04-15-2015 08:48 PM

I was screaming ice it at the tv.
I just knew that wasn't gonna end well.

Depressing stat but another loss to our shitty playoff record post 2011.

Not really racist! 04-15-2015 08:48 PM

Actually, they came out flying on the first period. However, the quality of play dropped significantly from 2nd period on forward.

If they're going to run out of steam after the FIRST period of game ONE.... well, one can only cross ones fingers that, that doesn't set the tone for the entire series :/

David Jones in his post game interview.

Bouncing Bettys 04-15-2015 09:08 PM

Ride Lack. Pulling Luongo for Schnieder after game 2 vs LA when he was playing well was the wrong move.

OGCStrike 04-15-2015 09:15 PM

they figured out that weber is a weak link and was targeting him the whole game :okay:

dL 04-15-2015 10:51 PM

I guess another positive outlook is during our SCF, I believe we won game 1 like 1-0 with 30 seconds left with a Torres goal, yet we lost the series at the end.

Anything can still happen. While most people say Canucks in 6, I'd say it's going to go to 7 and it's going to be a toss-up of which team shows up more on that night.

Maybe it's time to bring in Stanton instead? :P I say we should definitely consider Baertschi and re-ignite the second line again.

This team forgot how to hockey the last half of the game...

spideyv2 04-16-2015 12:10 AM

Who's the fucking idiot that recommended to go with Miller for game 2?

Ch28 04-16-2015 05:40 AM

There's no way you fault Lack on any of those goals last night

1st goal shouldn't even have happened had they cleared the puck properly. Same goes with the GWG. How can you expect a goalie to make a save when there are 4 guys screening him and everyone on ice is incapable of clearing?

Jmac 04-16-2015 05:53 AM

Plus Miller is still injured ... Dressed, but not close to 100%
