It says something when there is more intensity from both teams in 2OT between Chicago and Nashville than there was at any point from the Canucks in the game tonight.

Bieksa should have just kept his mouth shut and never tried to trash talk since neither he nor anyone else on the Canucks can back it up on the ice.

Amuse 04-22-2015 04:59 AM

MILLER AND BAERTSCHI should start next game.

I rather have Stanton in the lineup. Or even call up Corrado! Replace both Bieksa and Sbisa for game 5!

At this point making those changes wont make any significant difference. It's hard to have faith in this team when you see the players lack drive to play with heart. Even though I would agree WD has made some coaching mistakes and arguable has been out-coached by Hartly, the players just aren't trying. At least when the 94' team came back in the series, they had heart. I just don't see us winning 3 straight.

punkwax 04-22-2015 06:15 AM

Miller played well... I'd be shocked if he didn't start game 5.

Calgary hussles hard every shift and they block a lot of shots. They're playing playoff hockey. Canucks are sticking to the regular season formula it seems. No chance any team is going anywhere in the playoffs without turning it up. A lot.

AzNightmare 04-22-2015 07:08 AM

Tough for team to notch it up when in the dressing room, the coach is telling them that the line combinations are real good, everyone is playing real good, and the series is going real good... Not to mention, he's a real good coach too.

There's always next year

6o4__boi 04-22-2015 07:12 AM

fuck it's depressing being a Canucks fan

just watch, WD is gonna stick with the same shit line up for game 5...so many questionable (and indefensible) coaching decisions.
Bieksa got absolutely wrecked with Sbisa.
they might as well play a dirge as the entry song on Game 5.

-told that bangwagon jumpers that I know that I am wearing my Henrik jersey to work now to support the team.

The guys will play hard for each on home ice. We're not going down on home ice! :gun:

6o4__boi 04-22-2015 08:02 AM

pasta, just out of curiousity, how long have you been a canucks fan?

radioman 04-22-2015 08:07 AM

^please don't start with the "I've been a fan for 100 years" crap.

I have been a Canucks fan since I was 9 years old. -over thirty years as a diehard Canucks fan.

-still remember going to my first Canucks game with my Dad back in the day...at the Pacific Coliseum in 1983. That Canucks team beat the Jets 4-2 that night

I'm an old pastarocket lol. -not like you youngbloods. :accepted:

-remembered the heartache of seeing our team losing to damn Messier and the Rangers in '94, and of course the bad news Bruins in 2011.

6o4__boi 04-22-2015 08:17 AM

but i've been a fan for a 100 and four scores now.. :troll:
with all this losing it feels like its been a 100 years though :okay:

just curious though, cus i've noticed my youngest brother and his friends just getting into hockey and are so upbeat about everything
seems like a new generation of unjaded and hopeful Canucks fans are coming up, i'm wondering where that generational line is being drawn

When this millenial generation gets older, they will become another generation of jaded Canucks fans. Give it time :troll:

I hope all of us and kids these days live to see a Canuck captain hoist Lord Stanley's Cup. These cardiac Canucks drive you crazy with the way they play. I'm talking about previous teams, not just the current roster :toot:

1982 team: can't remember. -too young at that time. :troll:

1994 team. Flames choke in round 1 when this Canucks team wins three straight overtime games to win round 1. Linden cements his legendary Canuck captain status in the playoffs with a great game in game 7 vs. the Rangers. We fall short in game 7 in New York.

2011 team: A team built on speed, skill, and four line depth. Burrows slays the dragon with the overtime goal in game 7 vs. Chicago. The team loses on home ice to the Bruins in game 7 of the Finals. A disgusting riot ensues in downtown.

Lady luck is not with this franchise. The ice guys need to put a lucky loon at the centre ice of Rogers Arena for EVERY game. :lawl:

You don't win a Stanley Cup by playing four grueling rounds of hockey just by playing well as a team without some luck on your side.

6o4__boi 04-22-2015 08:34 AM

i rmbr being a hopeful fan during the aftermath of 94, the dark ages of Messier and Keenan, for what that's worth

then being over the moon during the WCE years, that choke against the Wild the year before dampened spirits but the game 7 loss to the Flams was killer.
The Sedin era was the same, confidence, upbeat. Loved the Chicago rivalry.
the Bruins loss started the indifference for me...then the losses to Sharks and Kings pretty much just jaded me.

now i'm all for seeing any spark, whether it be youth or vet but seems like that's been snuffed out.
It'll suck when the Sedins go but i wish i could fast forward through this era onto a new core. This isn't quite the Keenan dark days but it sucks nonetheless.

That's a hockey game!

And lets' be honest here....was anyone really expecting a different result? We've seen this shit for the past couple playoffs (except last year - there was none).
Everyone has agreed, this team needs a revamp. Stop with the plugs, and lets rebuild.

thing is, to start a true rebuild they need to get rid of the sedins.

that will never happen as fans would riot, but they're more than useless in the playoffs

Gumby 04-22-2015 09:03 AM

Flames have been getting better as the series progresses. Canucks have been average at best. We don't deserve to win the series.

I noticed Horvat out in the final few minutes with the empty net. How's that for a vote of confidence from the coach?

6o4__boi 04-22-2015 09:12 AM

lol Benning knew they were doomed from the start that's why he opted for the scouting trip..."i don't wanna see this shit unfold"

i'd like to see Horvat as the 2nd/3rd line center next year and maybe McCann if he can take the next step.

if Bieksa is injured he should just sit out, i don't care what he says...he was turned inside out every shift.
:fuckthatshit:
i'm gonna lose my shit if i see the same line up tmrw

Hondaracer 04-22-2015 09:14 AM

With the addition of mcdavid to the oilers, it would seem like the canucks are now the weakest team in the pacific

punkwax 04-22-2015 09:19 AM

I think Horvat has already shown he deserves a crack at first line centre next year. Put him with Vrbata and another young gun (McCann/Virtanen/Shinkaruk) for wingers. We'd have the best 2nd line in the NHL with the Sedins and they could play with another rookie to build confidence.

IMO they seriously need to give the youngsters a legitimate shot to take over this aging core. Watching all of Calgary's young stars take it to the geezers out there is strong evidence that Torts was right, it is a young man's game. Especially the playoffs.

murd0c 04-22-2015 09:24 AM

McCann is a center....

6o4__boi 04-22-2015 09:25 AM

I'd say Canucks and Sharks are the weakest links in the pacific. But imo, Sharks should have the personnel and assets to make the playoffs next season

lol the Canucks should find a way to add red back to their colours or ditch blue...Teams with blue either choke or run out of luck
Come to think of it, when was the last time a team with blue in their primary team colors won a cup? The Bolts in 04?
:troll:

highfive 04-22-2015 09:26 AM

I don't think Flames have been getting better as the series progresses.

The canucks as a team has played like shit as the series went on.

Just look at how much hustle flames have compared to the Canucks.

When the flames turn it over and the Canucks are skating with a 3 on 2, almost immediately you see a flames player backchecking hard. We have none of that going for us.

Flames haven't gotten better as the series progressed, it's just that the Canucks have been playing like absolute shit as it goes on.
