The loss of Mathias is moreso about that loss of size and physical presence, he does create room with his body when he's on his game.

And where the hell is Kassian...uhg man seems like he probably won't be returning

Agreed, Matthias does a good job of controlling the puck down low in the offenseive zone and wearing out the other team's D to open up space for the other lines and many games he is the only player taking the puck to the net which forces teams to alter their defensive scheme as well.

Also, why is there NO info whatsoever on what's wrong with Kassian or an expected return??? Or have I just missed it being down in LA?

They keep talking about back injury on the radio but I don't know if the team has actually come out and said anything

SumAznGuy 04-09-2015 11:55 AM

Officially, I don't recall seeing the team saying what is wrong with Kassian.
TSN1040 said he is having back problems.

Same goes Richardson. No official word on what his injury was, but I think it is the same injury from earlier in the season when he blocked a shot.

they got Kassian locked up in a room somewhere
strapped to a chair, eyes forced open watching clip after clip of all Bertuzzi's goals on repeat

they're just waiting til game 1 to release him.

Richardson said he has a lower body injury and he'll be week-to-week the rest of the season. This was during a 1040 interview weeks ago.

I also haven't heard anything but speculation regarding Kassian. The last game he played was against the Leafs when he went Bruce Banner on Phaneuf.

Lol, wtf, why Matthias and not Vey is beyond me?!?!?!?!?!

6o4__boi 04-09-2015 06:03 PM

Matthias is taking a maintenance day...suspected minor injury.

Lol I'd be choked if Matthias was a healthy scratched over Vey.

tbh I don't give a shit about home advantage, playing on the road might benefit the team more.

And go Bobby Luu, Fuck Boston!
