Hit and run at Tyne St and Euclid Ave

Haven't been on this site in years...I see a lot of changes have been made...too bad my first thread back is about a hit&run.

Accident occurred approximately 5pm or shortly thereafter. Southeast corner of Gaston Park at Tyne St and Euclid Ave.

I was walking home from the Joyce Skytrain Station after work and cutting through Gaston Park. I noticed a SUV was slowly driving southbound on Tyne St (since it was a park zone) followed by a darker color 2nd generation Lexus GS400 (most likely black). From my obstructed view half block away I could see the SUV stop at the stop sign...the driver of the GS400 became impatient and started honking. A cyclist was heading eastbound on Euclid Ave. No stop sign for him so he proceeded through the intersection. I then heard tires screeching and my immediate thought was "this won't end well" (I could make out the GS400 cutting around the left side of the SUV).

By the time I rounded the bend on Tyne St the driver of the SUV had pulled over and there was a good dozen people (give or take a couple) surrounding the bicyclist laying in the middle of the intersection. The GS400 fled westbound down the alley just south of Euclid Ave. I wish I had valid first aid training, fully witnessed the incident, and taken down the GS400 plate #. As I came up to the scene some people were on their cell phones dialing 911, some were tending to the injured cyclist and others were shouting that they "got the plate #". Nothing I can add to the situation so I kept on walking. The bicyclist was conscious and coherent.

To the driver of the GS400 (if you're on here): I'm no expert on the law but if you had stopped to "man-up" to the accident you probably would have walked away with a slap on the wrist fine and raised insurance premiums. Now...go get yourself a lawyer...the police are coming for you.

No. I got lazy with maintaining it. Sold it to a coworker who's putting some love into it to take her to the next level.
