Placing an image of an Import Model (Good God, are those things still around?) in the middle of the advertisement and sizing it so that it is the core attention-grabber demonstrates today's sorry state of automotive tuning.

Might as well place some tron-stripped neon matte wrapped Ferraris beside some pale-skinned LV-toting skinnies.

I would say the utilization(or objectification if you want to call it) of women in automotive culture today versus say 10 years ago has greatly improved. Remember wet T shirt contests and Miss Import Model? Yeeeeaaaaah.....

Sadly, Importfest still refers to Dannie Riel as a Miss Import Model winner..

What's more sad is that I'm not in Vancouver to attend this one, but I'm going to the Toronto one which has terrible import models attending. I feel lilke I got cheated.

-pretty good show this year. -waited for almost an hour to test drive the FR-S and get some swag. Importfest T-shirt and sunglasses.
-hot models at the show!

Pretty underwhelming show IMO

Maybe its cause Vancouvers spoiled with nice rides but it almost felt like a scaled down thursday meet. Only the NSX-R really made me

Also waited in line for FR-S test drive and got denied after waiting like half an hour because i have my N still and they "dont know if i can handle" their little 2L 200hp car

It was a little bit better than last year's show but like my friend said at the show, at least 60% of the cars we will see next weekend at the RS meet.

Anyway, here's my set of pics

Makes me feel like a giddy kid again seeing one of these. Are the headlights the product of importation guidelines, or something else? Haven't seen them before.

Spoiler!

Headed down there a bit later after the crowd. Oh man the amount of GTR's that were there, I was surprised I didn't bump into Timpo. More from this set on my Flickr or Facebook Page

The way I see it..

60% of cars at RS meet on Aug 24
35% of worth while cars seen using pics posted after event on RS
5% of cars are not pic worthy and no one cares

Haven't been since ... 2001, maybe 2002? at Pacific Coliseum.

Most memorable moment was when my buddy and I were walking around outside prior to the show and some idiot with an NSX was showing off for some girls, ended up rear-ending a parked car at a pretty decent speed.

Totally true but c'mon...car culture is mostly guys and guys want to see hot girls. The hotness has gone up as well. I remember 10 years ago when...well, when we were just being polite...

I'm sure if there were a booth with a hot guy for all the ladies, none of the men would cry about it.

The Men of REVscene did our best to entertain saucywoman and the other ladies at Import Fest.
