It's not the same thing but ChangJiang M1 bikes (from Shanghai) go for about 20,000RMB ($3,500). They're made from the original tooling of the 1930's BMW R71 model -- the factory was originally taken over by the Russians post-WW2 which the Chinese military then moved over to China in the early 1960's. I've heard of some people doing motor swaps to BMW boxers for a bit of reliability.

Some old Honda Racebikes:

1960's Factory CB750 Racebikes

1970's CB750

1980's CBX (Inline 6 Cyl)

1990's VF1000R.

It's a late 70's Yamaha XS750. Not too familiar with the XS series but there seem to be a ton of awesome examples out there!

Knowing this won't get appreciated in the regular craigslist good buys thread, thought I'd post it here.

1989 Honda CB-1 Black 400cc

The CB-1 is one of my dream bikes. Never very popular around here, it was based on the CBR400RR. They're very difficult to find and sell quick. It's too bad I can't jump on this deal right now, it looks to be in great shape. Shame it's not in the electric blue colour though

How about some British and Italian twins?

A 1950's Vincent Black Shadow. The most elegantly styled motorcycle ever -- with the most beautiful engine. The first production bike that could accelerate to 125MPH (200KM/H).

Come on people I'm sure you have cool pics saved as inspiration for your future builds. Myself, I've been thinking about Yamaha RD350/400s lately...

Miss my old '79 Yamaha SR500 with original Brooklands AJS 7R conversion kit. (Should not have sold. FML.)

The thing had better suspension than my car!

I know some of you guys here HATE Murray @ Modern Motorcycling with a passion, but if you are a serious fan of real cafe racers, chat Murray up. He's got a soft spot for them and if you're lucky, he'll show you his stash of original AJS, BSA, Triumph, Norton, and Vincent collection.

It was certainly a tough decision but it boiled down to priorities in life and the fact that it was just too aggressive to ride on the streets.

^ reminds me of the inspiration I had for my ZX6E. Didn't go that route though, ended up finding cheap plastics ($20!) and selling it as stock before getting my XJ650.

A bit of an acquired taste from a Japanese builder. Whitehouse CB750.
