Google Has Been Tracking Your Moves click on the link and set it for 30 days. you're movements will pop up. wonder what CiC will say about this. https://maps.google.com/locationhistory/b/0 |
*yawn* wasn't there something about Apple doing this a few years ago? It's all part of giving you all those neat personalized features that you love and expect from your advanced technology. |
This is actually handy, sometimes I don't update my work calendar for a few days and then I forget where I was and for how long when I need to submit my hours. Seeing as the GPS reception sucks on my phone, and I usually have the WiFi off so it isn't constantly latching onto Shaw Go and Starbucks hotspots, it only gives a rough approximation of the area I was in, anyway (cel tower triangulation). |
You have no location history from July 19, 2014 to August 17, 2014 |

It's turned off by default unless the user turns it on themselves. Essentially, Google is the tool you used to track yourself. |
Who cares. |
as much as i hate being tracked i've come to accept being mined for personal information as the cost of free useful tools like google maps |
Personally I don't mind. I get updates on my phone about where I parked (in case I forget), travel time to work/school/home as well as showing me alternative routes to take to save time. I got nothing to hide and don't think I'm interesting enough to stalk so I could care less |

holy shit hope the wife doesn't see this... |
you better sign out of your google account :troll: |

Between that and the WiFi, you can get an approximation (usually within 100-200m) of your position, but typically not much more refined than that. High-accuracy location requires GPS. |

If you have Location services turned off, I guess thats why some of you guys dont have your "Moves" tracked... I still remember the first time I parked my car, I went into a seminar, and half way through I saw the card notifying me of where and when I parked my car. Slowly I have gotten used to it, the features are handy as all hell, as you can monitor when you parked, and if you have to go back to the car to add more for parking or w/e. Overall i'm fine with it, "the man" can watch me all he wants, he's the one thats going to get bored, since I am pretty boring. |
LOL I have no location service for the past 30days.... I guess turning off location service and GPS on your phone does block google from knowing where you are. |

It isn't exactly accurate, it shows me being places that I haven't been to in the 30 day period, primarily SFU. I have a feeling it's including cell towers, I don't know why, it's also leaving out certain locations I HAVE been to lately. http://i.imgur.com/cjDGn9m.png |
Wow, this is fun, HAHAHA Useful for when you forgot what happened after drinking a little too much |
you can turn it off in Google Settings if you want. But I leave it on so I can see what hilarious shapes I can draw |
