Purchasing a r32 skyline

is there anything special i should watch out for when buying a 1991 gts-t?

Matsuda 08-20-2014 09:54 AM

make sure it has doors :troll:

BrownBear 08-20-2014 10:01 AM

If you get one I demand a ride.

mos_skeeto 08-20-2014 10:06 AM

Make sure it's secured well on the boat from Japan. Water stains are impossible to get out.

Where are you looking? importing one yourself or buying here?

im looking to buy one here

N8 08-20-2014 10:18 AM

you buying local or overseas? get a compression test and check for bubbly dash and interior trim. check for loose HICAS, engine and suspension bushings.

get the real confirmed auction sheet and get it translated by a 3rd party

What's your budget?
Go on GTRCanada.com and register on the forums, good community.
Quite a few Skylines for sale there too.

GabAlmighty 08-20-2014 10:38 AM

cho 08-20-2014 10:49 AM

couldn't take anything seriously after i saw op's username

swfk 08-20-2014 07:22 PM

Importing one yourself is way cheaper

SpartanAir 08-20-2014 09:55 PM

I've owned 2; GTS-4 and GTR. Get on GTRC and do your research, there's plenty of info there. Skylines Australia is also a great community and resource...

...though get used to people calling you 'champ', because down there it's equivalent to 'bro' or 'man', but up here it's super condescending.

Make sure you get a wide enough bucket seat so you can wear your bomber jacket while driving to station square.. it's a long drive from Surrey.

When was the last time you went to Station Square? That place no longer exists....

R32s lack a third brake light, and rear side reflectors, which are necessary to have an imported vehicle registered in BC. So you'll have to install that shit yourself.

There's a lot more stuff you should know about importing but those things are fairly unique to the R32.

Timpo 08-22-2014 10:55 PM

ask these guys GT-R Canada

dee242 08-23-2014 10:04 AM

fivetwo 08-23-2014 10:37 AM

come on man there are other reasons to want an R32

ThatKoukiKid 08-24-2014 07:21 PM

i wouldn't pay 9G for a GTS-T, but i would get one without hicas

boostfever 08-24-2014 11:42 PM

hicas is such a big deal here, never had problem with mine.
they all come with hicas. just remove it.

falcon 08-25-2014 05:16 PM

Gtrcanada.com. go there, read up. Don't ask on here. There's a wealth of info for new buyers over on gtrc

cooke24 08-28-2014 10:36 PM

9k budget... get yourself a r33. 1997. dont bother with older gtst.

15k budget get r34 gtt or r32 GTR

15k+ r33 GTR

40k+ baller status r34 gtr

falcon 08-29-2014 09:43 AM

R32's are waaaay cooler than R33's. Also, you can get a sweet miny R32 from Japan for like $5k. And spend the rest of your money on suspension, wheels, hicas lock out and minor boost up mods. Manual boost controller, front mount and WB02. Easy to make these cars go fast.

My old R32 I got for $6.5K landed back in 2007. And prices have gone down since then.
