Northern Lights Expected Over Vancouver Tonight & Tmr
 

anybody interested?? Might plan on going down to spanish or up burnaby mountain tonight at 1am to check it out myself. Ive told my girlfriend that my biggest wish is to one day to see the northern lights in person, up in the north west territories. I've always imagined viewing these spectacular lights with the ground covered in snow and far away from the city. xD

Burnaby mountain is probably the best place to see it?

I wish I was camping this weekend, bring a lb of weed lay on the beach and watch it all night

I went last night and didn't see anything... As for your bucket list... These will not be the rainbow colored northern lights that you are thinking of. You may only see green because most of the other colors will not be as visible this far south.

Also: Too much light pollution.

I think I'll go to Squint Lake to see the Northern Lights this evening. Maybe others can join us.

If you genuinely want the best chance of seeing it, go to the Dark Sky park in Abbotsford.

Anyone drive out to Porteau Cove?? Is it more visible out there??

When I saw the link in your post, my exact thoughts were "If this is a fucking vancitybuzz article I'm going to have a fucking aneurysm." Fuck. To make me less angry, I had to watch this.
I've seen them pretty intensely in Edmonton and in Jasper. Much more vivid a little further north.

Thats where I will be heading. Hopefully it will be more visable.
