It's not "normal behaviour". He's diagnose-able. Having been through this exact scenario before, the only thing that will help is if he meets someone else he can obsess over and/or emotionally abuse, of if he goes through extensive therapy. It may take a few years, unfortunately.....If you are afraid for your safety, alert the police. If you don't think any physical harm will come from you, just IGNORE HIM as hard as you can. Block his calls, block his emails, block his texts, block his twitter, block him on facebook, block his friends on facebook, cut off all contact with him and any mutual friends. If you don't know how to do this, ask friends to help. Change your phone number and your email address if you have to. It's inconvenient, but it helps. You can't stop him from seeing you or having his friends see you, but you can prevent yourself from having to hear about it. My ex may still be internet stalking me (I moved provinces, so physical stalking has ended) and sending me emails, but I blocked his email address after the last one a couple months ago and I'm now living blissfully unaware of his existence. Oh and I broke up with him in 2006...so yeah, this can go on for quite some time. You can't control what he does, but you can control how much you have to know he even exists. He might be dead now, I don't know. I don't care.
