Recommendations for Engine Swaps?

Hi I am looking for someone to help me locate a D16Y7/8 or B-series motor and swap it into an EK (00 Civic Hatchback).

Does anyone know of any shops or private individuals with hoists who will help me do this?

Thank you

A bit more pricey, unless you have a hook up?

I know they are bloody expesive, but they are bloody good engines. They just make you want to rev them and they sound like sex. Plus if you plan on modding your car they respond to mods sooooo well.

Just buy a car that already has the swap done. It'll probably have suspension and exhaust work done already.

kung shoes must be doing well.

$2000 is a super ghetto turbo setup.

Contact danz. He probably has 10 d16's laying around and has a lot of experience with turbo d16s. If you are doing all the work yourself which is sounds like you are not, $2000 is not unreasonable. If you need help, you're probably looking at 4k+ with the motor put in.

^ was going to say something similar. a D series to make 300hp will need rods, pistons and headstuds at the very minimum. that setup will cost you at least 500$ but could range up to 1000 easily for a semi cheap setup. i put together my entire turbo setup over about a year period just finding good deals and getting stuff thru friends and my setup still cost about 1500$ for all good parts.. but i also did everything with a friend one weekend so i didnt have to pay anyone. something like this will cost more in labor than it will in parts

then a good turbo kit (dont forget gauges, injectors, fuel pump and all that fun stuff) it adds up quickly

then you will need a tune.. if you get this far i suggest evolution auto, they did my tune and i couldnt be happier.. until the car was stolen.. then i wasnt very happy

now if you go be series its a whole other thing. you will need engine mounts, linkage ecu, harnesses, axles, trans and engine.. again these things add up quick and unless they are broken or on their way out people dont usually sell them, same goes for transmissions

soo.. if about 180hp is what you want.. b series. 300hp? boosted d series. anything more than 300, boost a b series.

bases on your budget dont consider a K

Based on his budget, he should just do a H22 swap. You may be able to get it done for close to $2000. You don't need a tune either and the car would run 13's all day in a civic with good bolt ons. Getting it tuned though would definitely help if you had the funds and more reliable.

A k-series is to expensive to be a reasonable option for an ek or earlier daily driver. The intelligent decision would be to sell and buy a k-native car, ie. a rsx or tsx. A good reason for putting a k-series into an ek or earlier car is for the unparalleled performance in a track toy, particularly if its na.

Everyones saying no to my kseries idea . I just love the engine soo much . Back on topic though it depends on what you're using your car for. If it's daily driver you really don't need 300hp. Civics are light cars already. You will rarely ever use 300hp for a dd. I have maybe 230-240 in my car with all my mods and ya it rips but I rarely get to use all the power. If I were you I would aim for around 220-230hp and build a more reliable engine.

I want a turbo 13B rsx. It would be the most unreliable honda ever though.

I'm in for k20 swap. My friend has one and it hauls some serious ass. Also don't cheap out on turbo setups, or engine mods requires to handle said setup. Cheaper to do it once than to do it break it and do it again!!
