On that same note, what are you guys talking about the navigation unit and built in features of the car you are allowed to use, any features you aren't supposed to use while in motion (like the navigation) lock out when you are moving. So there is no problem using anything in the car that came from the factory.

We're talking about the new cars with heater controls on touchscreens (which suck a big bag of dicks by the way, good luck using those fucking things) not the nav system.

^ At my work those screens failing was probably the most prevalent reason for cars being out of service

happened pretty frequently on the newer ford SUVs (Edge/Flex/Exploder) that the heater would get stuck on full blast -- in the middle of June, that's a pretty big problem. No way to really reset it either, the screen would just freeze and be sent back to the dealer :fuckthatshit:

No, you're not reading it incorrectly - if the phone is sitting there playing music, it must be securely fastened to the vehicle. It can't be loose.

I can still perform search functions or set my routes in my OEM navi unit in my 05 tsx while the car is in motion

Did someone perform a Nav bypass on it?

Because I have a 2005 Escalade which locks you out, and I know for a fact that my friends 05 Acura RL locks out as well. You can't enter letters while going faster than like 5mph

2013 (?) Avalanche stayed unlocked as well, all factory (rental).

Not during my ownership. I got the car used from North Shore Auto Mall, I was told the previous owner was an old couple moving into an old folks home.

I work for a dealer as well. almost never had a screen give us an issue with controls, etc. We've had 1 break down in the last year. And even it was intermittent, and the car was 5 years old.

Both my cars work fine when the car is in motion. My friend's Merc on the other hand locks him out when he's driving.
