Do accidents count towards your DRP? I got an excessive speeding ticket and I had an accident 2 years ago. ICBC says that DRP is calculated from three years back, and the premium is added on top of your insurance costs.
If they look back three years, they will see an accident on my record. Will this accident affect my insurance?
Increases to premiums from at-fault collisions and DRPs incurred from breaking the motor vehicle act are two entirely separate things, so no.
The rationale behind this being that you don't necessarily have to be breaking any laws to get into a crash, and shitty driving doesn't necessarily always lead to an accident (though they are usually related).
