Take Marine Drive all the way to Whytecliff Park.

Is Whytecliff Park a good place to park and get out to walk? Or do you have to hike to the top or the end in order to see the views?

If you want a view of the water, or all the islands surrounding the edge of the inlet, then its a great place to stop off.
Also you don't need to hike very far, if you park inside the actual park you can walk like 2 minutes up on the rocks and get a great view.

49th ave west bound to UBC highway, then go to Spanish Banks/Jericho Beach -- from there, you can hot-lap stanley park, or cruise up to north van/british properties/the quay in north van -- Loop I always do when I'm bored /

Yeah of the water. The actual park would just be the main parking lot right? Do you have to trek through the woods (very dark and hard to see?) or easily walkable at night?

I went around Stanley Park at about 3 am a few years ago...
It was the scariest thing ever - everything is DEAD quiet, and it feels like something is always watching you.
I'd also suggest the marine drive, but if you're looking for a stroll, horseshoe bay is much better.

The beach isn't too far from the parking lot. It's like a 30 second stumble down the hill. You can walk along the beach, or if you're looking for some danger in low-tide, you can try and rock hop to the 'island':
My friend and I used to go there during late night for some 420, after driving the curvy road a few times. There's usually no one there.

I most definitely have never done this, and if you end up wrapping yourself round a pole don't come crying to me, BUT: https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/49.34...a=!4m2!4m1!3e0
This is an epic loop, I used to live just up the street, and I have driven both sides of this loop from taylor way to collinwood school countless times.
Google maps says 8 minutes...
While were at it: https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/49.34...49.3442948!3e0
This is nearby as well.

From what I remember it was dark and kinda scary too. Walked down the path and we decided to turn around cause it was dark as fuck and couldn't see much further ahead.

Burnaby mountain around SFU.
Super dark but it's calming. It's a good idea to scout the place in the daytime so you know where you're going.

Fuck you, just like I was afraid of spiders when I was 12, and I still don't like them now, being alone in a dark-ass park with hobos and monsterss lurking in the shadowy bushes is still scary.
