Ended up finding a decent deal directly through KLM after a bit more searching. It was $100 cheaper on Expedia, but I'd rather have the piece of mind of buying straight from the airline seeing that there are a bunch of transfers/layovers.

google flights found the cheapest flights then takes you to the carriers website to book direct....killed expedias prices

variations in airplane tickets are rare unlike hotels IMO. I use google flights.

However if you are booking China or South America use their respective travel site. (Ctrip, Lan peru site.)
