Detroit Auto Show - 2016 Porsche 911 Targa

2016 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS: More Power for the Flip-Top ? News ? Car and Driver

Yet another sexy beast coming out of the Auto Show

Quote:
Officially created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 911 Targa, the GTS gets a more powerful, 430-hp flat-six together with standard fitment of the drive-sharpening Sport Chrono pack and PASM chassis. There are also some natty-looking 20-inch, center-locking wheels finished in matte black. And being four-wheel drive, the GTS, like its lesser Targa sisters, gets the fractionally wider bodyshell, too.

The power increase improves the power-to-weight ratio, to less than eight pounds per horsepower. The top speed is quoted at 186 mph, with a 4.1-second zero-to-60-mph time with the optional PDK transmission. Obviously, we’d still buy the manual every time.

Porsche says that one in eight 911s has been sold with a Targa roof, and the 991-generation has impressed us on prior experience. There’s no reason to suppose the GTS won’t serve its very-Porsche brief of being incrementally better, possibly even good enough to justify its $133,795 MSRP.

Doesn't do anything for me. I think the targa should have been killed off in the 80s.
