The funny thing is, even if you bought a 993tt for 50k, and it was now worth 150k, would you sell it? I'd have to be hard pressed for money to consider it.

actually, that's tough to say.. i was reading some guys blurb on rennlist about how he went from his 993TT to a 997 something. he said the 993tt isnt the perfect car compared to modern porsches but does have its qualities which makes it very desirable. i dont recall what else he said but he definitely gave a different, refreshing perspective.

i suppose one would have to own it for a period of time before commenting? like any car, after owning it for X yrs, it surely does get stale and warrants an upgrade? (or maybe not in this case)...

Yeah really depends on an individual basis, but for me, I've got no commitment issues if I find the right car. This, a 930, or a high strung as fuck longhood 911 are dream cars, and I could really only get rid of one of them interchangeably for the other if I was ever put in the circumstance. Oh, how it feels to dream.

Wow!!

I'd be interested to know more about the TT that was in Victoria. What a deal! Mileage, year, color, dealer or private?

I have to admit I have been tempted to sell my 993 to a US buyer for $60k CDN and find a similar mileage 964 coupe for $30k. My C4S has 165kms. (Sorry Westopher and Thumper )

The 993 is a special car but many modern cars will run circles around it. It's all about the driving experience.

I'd probably pony up for a 964 if I found one locally for 30k, pending nothing other than a manual transmission and clean title.

Finding a manual coupe in Canada for around 30k is not easy either. Here is a 91 C4, 175 ish kms. He may list it in the spring. He daily drives it including New Brunswick winters. Accident too.

value of 1991 C4 - daily driver condition - Pelican Parts Technical BBS

In 2012 there were a few guards red coupes and a silver one for $25k in Van. I thought that was expensive and didn't like the colors either

Its one of those things, you have to buy the car before it hits the market with these cars now. My e36 was not listed anywhere when I bought it, nor was the seller planning on listing for a while. It took some prodding and asking around to the right people. I feel like good prices can still be had, but it takes some networking and just being a decent person that people want to see their cars go to.

Couldn't agree more! Mine was not listed publicly. I can't stop looking for a 964 coupes so will post them up in the "CL good buy" thread if I find any decent ones.

Maybe just PM me lol. I really have a hard time buying a car I want right now though. I already have one car that deserves a garage thats parked on the street, having 2 seems silly. Although, we are looking at moving soon. As soon as that happens I'll be much more trigger happy.

SR Auto seems to agree the 993 TT is a good investment. They have two for sale. 96 TT 36k miles, $165k USD/ $210 CDN
