Friends car stolen.. My friends car was stolen.. it's a 2014 white Hyundai elantra sedan. Plate AA7 76K stolen in west Richmond between 1150am-315pm today If anyone sees anything, please send me a PM! Thanks |
sorry for your friends, will keep an eye in Richmond. But how did the newer vehicle got stolen nowadays? Immobilizer doesn't work? vehicle got towed? |
I travel quite a bit in Richmond for work so I'll be keeping an eye out. Just curious. Do you know how the car was stolen considering its a 2014 |
a new car stolen? thats odd. so, any mods or anything specific that we could see visibly? i work/live in richmond so that would help a lot |
Could've left his keys in by accident. Anyways I'll keep an eye out in Burnaby and rich |
I'm not sure about the details.. will try to find out from him. He just asked me to 'post on that car website you always go on' |
Seems odd they stole a brand new car... Could it of been towed? |
What kind of dumbass thief goes through the trouble of stealing a 2014 Elantra? My guess is it was towed or crime of opportunity (keys in ignition/found keys then found the car) Good luck to your friend though. |
I saw a post on reddit earlier today about this missing car. OP correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it was something along the lines of the owner losing/dropping the keys outside somewhere near the car, someone found it, took the keys, and then came back for the car afterwards. |
Just confirmed with owner, said he must've dropped the keys and that's how they stole it.. He also didn't call the tow yards as he wasn't parked illegally, but I told him to call tomorrow anyways.. |
Did he even file a police report? Or do people now go straight to the internet before exploring all the obvious options nowadays? |
What's the point of stealing an Elantra? Not worth stripping for parts or shipping it overseas...doubt anyone is stupid enough to buy a stolen vehicle with zero paperwork. I can't think of a good reason unless it was purely for joy riding. |
Is he committing insurance fraud cause he hates the car that much? :suspicious: |
Good luck to your friend. I've dropped my keys before but luckily I wasn't driving my car at the time and whoever found it turned it in. |

If he ever gets it back, it'll be beat to shit... More likely they'll torch it in the woods or something probably. |
Not sure what's the detail of this case, but stupid things happens. back at UVic, I once saw a Mini parked next to me with its key on top of the car. I grabbed it and handed it to campus security. (he actually took my number and other info). The second day, a cute sounding chick called me to thank me and wanted to buy me a coffee. I cannot... yes, up until today, figure why the fuck I said no even when she insisted and I was single and horny like a freaking rabbit... :alone::QQ: Back to topic... good luck finding the car. I think it was an amateur job. The guy/chick who found the key most likely took it for a joy-ride. |
