Furthermore: Nico came off as a plug here. Although it is interesting to see the differences in mind sets here. Both Nico and Lewis know that they'd still have a very good chance at winning the Constructors title at the end of the year essentially by finishing each race with one car. They really are that fast this year. Sebastian on the other hand knows - and fully shows here - that Ferrari needs to salvage every single point they can grasp their hands on if they're to stand a fighting chance for the Contructors. Unfortunately they dropped a handful of them this weekend. |
What a fucking shitty race. You know it's a shitty race when the highlight of the race was a battle between Perez and Button for last place. Only 11 cars finishing the race, with the 6th place finisher getting lapped, that's damn embarrassing. Two years ago the F1 governing body announced the huge rule changes would make for better racing, closer competition and reduce costs. It seems to me that it has completely backfired. Caterham folded, Maruissia is on a life-line, Sauber is just scraping by, and *surprise* the team with the highest budget is blowing away the rest of the field. I hope Malaysia shapes up completely differently, or I'm going to write off this season. |
yeah it was a terrible start to the season... a whopping 15 cars on the grid... I don't think i've ever seen it so small... |
Sauber did quite well with both cars in the points - and that pass by Magnus Ericsson was quite nice! That's definitely an improvement over last year IMO, and if Williams and Sauber can keep up the progress I would be a lot happier watching because it means that there's more fighting going on for the spots below Mercedes at least. I do wish McLaren-Honda did better, but we can only hope. :( |

Honestly at the moment i'm finding NASCAR more enjoyable to watch than Formula 1. |
The only thing keeping it interesting for me is the mclaren-honda saga... hopefully they can make a decent run at the end of the season. History sure repeats itself, this is like the early 2000s again when schumacher was dominating and there were only 12 on the starting grid |
the mercs weren't even running at their fastest, look how far off the qualifying pace they were at even by the end of the race they were lapping about 6-7seconds slower like last year at australia, rosberg said he had the power to lap the whole field but was told to take it easy Supposedly Massa has questioned if Mercedes is giving them the same engine because there's such a gulf in performance |
It is time the teams and F1 start seeing things from the point of view of the fans and bring in the budget caps. Once and for all. Another season of MB dominance will do more harm than good for the sport's long term future. Usually all of F1's problems can be blamed on Ecclestone, but this time around it's the major teams that need to smarten up. |
I agree. The last race in Australia was such a snooze fest and if Mercedes reliability holds up, they might have both titles wrapped up before the European leg ends. |
I think writing off a season after a single race that is a bumpy street circuit is a bit of a knee jerk reaction. Lets be honest, the Merc is going to take this season again, but the fight for 2/3/4/5 will be an interesting. So there will be no grand prix held in Germany this year, the last time this happened was in 1960 when the drivers refused to race there over track safety concerns. there was no official german gp in 2007 but it was held there as the 'european' race Nurburgring rules out German GP in 2015 | F1 news | Motorsport.com the nurburgring tried to come to an agreement which would still have had them hosting at a lo$$ but Bernie refused |
